I love those photos of Captain Goddammit, Charlie, Trilo, Pandorra, and Elliot in SF! Y'all are looking good. :)

Congratulations on the job, Tattoogoddess! My aunt worked for Nordstrom's way back in the day, and they were very kind to their employees. I hope it's still the case. And may your customer discount be large, because they're not cheap. ;)

Glad to hear the Captain and First Mate will be joining us again on the Playa... with bigger and better toys!! :D
One of these days, I'd love to get a personal tour by Trilo and Pandorra. You know all the GOOD places! 8)

*strolls in*
Hi gang!
nice photos of great folks, thanks Trilo!!

got a good start on the cemetery wall repairs, got it all torn down, and dry fit back together, also drilled and pinned.
haha, though at one point, I had a 1K lb piece of granite hanging off the tractor, both helper, not paying attention to each other, pushing against each other, back and forth......hahaha, I told them they looked like "two monkeys fucking a football"......hahah
Pretty cool, the stones and corner braces were set with liquid sulfur.
it also turns out, in this plot are growing some "up to now" roses thought to be extinct.
a few years ago, someone discovered these growing on this and a few other plots, remnants from the gold rush evidently.
so, of course, they are freaking about us digging and such there. I assured them of the delicate accuracy of my work......I think they bought it....hahaahaaa

when I get photo together, I'll post in the "work in progress" thread. sorta cool spot.

That's the second time I heard that phrase. Made this for an employee who told me that in June. But he said it was three monkeys.

Dad was stationed in Hawaii in the late 60s; when we left, the Navy housed us in the Hilton Rainbow Towers for a week. I think I still have a room key floating around in the stuff I kept from mom and dad's house.

There's no Spam on that poptart, how Hawaiian is that?

Mornin' campers.

Heading off to Phoenix later this morning. My buddy, and fellow Barbiebarian from Anchorage J.R., will be raising hell in the land of scorpions and sagebrush. We're heading over to Canyon Lake tomorrow with a few burner wannabees and will probably come back without tan lines. Then on Sunday it's the 49er-Cardinal game! Turns out there are 14 bars and restaurants between our hotel and the stadium, which will turn a 20 minute walk into a two-hour ordeal. Sure hope there aren't any "Blue Laws" in Arizona.

20% and holiday one day is 30%. So not to bad. But they also own haute look which is super discount. So I can get some fairly good stuff.

Ps those people loll way to clean ;)

Just got home. I'm freaked tired. Went at 4:30am for the new iPhone. Ya ya. I got one..... I need a nap now. :coffee:

Lucky you, Joeln.

I took 116 hours of annual leave this year to make it to the burn and back. Decom coming up in October should take a day, and then three for the regional and precom in May.

What remains is just enough to make for a day of shopping around Xmas.

Oh, well, I can retire in December, 5 years from now.

IF i had a girlfirend, you had better believe I'd be shopping for Xmas. It's not that they 'want' something for the holiday, I try to put my heart and soul into it. To give you an idea of how serious I am about it: My high school sweetie was a fan of Russian culture and language. I ended up that year getting her an all-fur pillbox hat to go with her leather coat. About three years ago, she finally 'retired' the hat.

I searched all over Tennessee to find that ONE hat, from Memphis to Knoxville to Chattanooga to Gatlinburg to Nashville. This was back in the days when they didn't have the Internet, just a pile of phonebooks at the public library. She still attends church with my Mom in the same congregation, and she asked how I was doing about three weeks ago.

My mother didn't even remember her. until she introduced herself. We were a good match for a couple of years, but there were other issues that told me it wasn't going to last. We split amicably (better that than me become a creepy stalker guy).

I don't play the lottery. Waste of money for me.

One last little tidbit to tell you about the kind of guy I am. Growing up in eastern Tennessee, I was exposed (though it wasn't fatal, thankfully) to redneck culture. It seemed every pick-up truck had a gun rack. My statement of belief: I got a gun rack, and found it was the perfect way to carry two umbrellas. I guess that was my tongue-in-cheek reaction to redneck culture.

Rednekness has got to be a disease. Get it on your fingertips and it just crawls right up your sleeve.... (Lyle Lovett).

I knew someone who did his shopping at the gas station. He bought his mother-in-law a lotto ticket and she won $2,000. Hah! It was his best present ever...
He's dead now. It was a better story when he told it. :)

In Spanish we have a word - recuerdo. It means a little gift, just something to show you were thinking of the person. Kinda like the medallions people give out at BM. What it means is more important than what it cost.

My grandma buys everybody a stack of scratch tickets for Christmas every year. To date, I believe I am the family's biggest winner, coming up with a grand total of $57 a couple years ago.

The greatest gifts are from children. My buddy Draco lives in Kansas City, and I met his son for the first time a couple of years back. Draco knows me as Rhino. He introduced me to his son as "Rhino, my friend". At the time, Burger King was giving out these little stuffed animals in their support of endangered species preservation...buy a kiddie meal, they make a donation kind of thing.

Draco's son ran from the room and came back with a little stuffed rhino. He asked me if I had one....I said "No, I don't."

Draco's son looked up at me with the kind of look you get from kids when they do something fantastic, and said,
"Here...I want you to have this one....I have another. You're Rhino and you have to have one."

I accepted it with tears in my eyes. That kid is gonna be something special some day.

I still have it...the little stuffed Rhino sits on the dashboard of my truck to remind me that giving from the heart can wow somebody's day.

I just got back from New Orleans in the middle of the night last night! Was there for a conference and I had a blast. Never realized there was a city where you could get away with so much debauchery outside of BRC.
