Watch out for those Maniac Burners.. They will be every where on the roads..

Cokes in cooler, canned goods and water in milk crate, clothes in bag, new underwear and socks. Sleeping bags and snivel gear ready, fieldpack, colemen stove, primus stove, kitchen stuff all piled in living room. Hair braided and beard braided.
Gleaners tomorrow for fresh food and snacks, giveaway hippie food, and stuff. Fillings at 1 pm tomorrow .Library for e-mail copies after 1. County fair Thursday 4 to 9 pm. Packing starts after fair. good to go on Sunday morning...

First half loaded into my little car, up to Flagstaff, re-loaded into the back of TinkerMom's truck, all with the help of strapping young men. (I might have to get me one of those...) Missed the rain by minutes!

Second half into my car in the morning, and aiming to head out in the late afternoon, timed to miss Las Vegas rush hour.
Meeting up with Delle & Mr. Mellow in Reno on Thursday.

Cannot get the rusted bike chain off with the stupid little tool. I finally just sprayed it with wd-40 and now its sitting soaking and hopefully will be more cooperative tomorrow. If I had bolt cutters I would have cut that sucker already.

Picked up the baby wipes and got the coolers all cleaned out and ready to load. Not having a camp meal for daily dinners is a bit stressful for me, even though I don't always eat it, it was nice to have as an option.

I think the truck & trailer are just about loaded. I have ONE more evening to get set, then the plan is to split immediately after work Thursday evening. It's just as likely I'll have to spend Thursday evening taking care of last minute shit, so I'm trying to mentally prepare for that. But I intend to be OUTTA HERE, on time!!

Made the bed in the trailer and taped heater filters to the windows. Final day at work today, and a big family dinner tonight, but all I want to do is pack!! Can't really get to it until tomorrow, at least everything is staged. I leave for Reno on Friday morning.

it's odd going to walmart as the burners are coming to town, and i'm in my work clothes, looking dull and frumpy, and they are colorful and giddy with excitement in seeing each other. i am invisible and feeling like i don't want to 'look normal'.
but got the frozen stuff that can't fit in my home freezer put into coolers and pull out tomorrow with my canadian rideshare.

Sleep. I really need some. I doubt that will happen though since I need to finish a couple more items on the swamp cooler, then cutting holes in the yurt for vents and doors, setup the costco carport, make another shelf, finish packing, and a bunch of smaller items on the list. I gave up on panic mode, but now I just need some rest. May sleep in Friday and then pick up the van and finish everything else minor then.

Exhaustion will probably smack me in the face later on tonight. I haven't gone to bed before 2am in weeks. I think last time was from exhaustion also.

Heading out Saturday morning.

I had everything dialed in, even remembered to order a replacement ink cartridge for our printer so the kids can print schoolwork while we are gone. I was feeling pretty good about myself.

Then I realized...I never got the additional poles I need for our shade structure. Without them, it doesn't go up. And then on the heels of that realization, I see that when I requested my vacation, I was a day short. Now I'm doubting myself about everything. Today was the day I had that thought "why the hell do we do this thing?"

We are supposed to pack tomorrow and leave Friday. Ugh.

As usual, I threw on a few extra sheets of plywood and some 10' 2x4s that I haven't got any planned use for.
I always do this, and it never goes unused!

Yay. The wd40 did the trick and I got the rusty no good chain off! Now I have to get the new chain on! But I got home too late this evening to try. My brother is in town from New Mexico and I spent some much needed downtime hanging out at my moms and being with mi familia.

I got into the class I really wanted to get for next semester! I also got a super hot lead at work, and that is very good news! Not exactly all Burning Man related, but life related and that counts these days.

Hugs to all those that are packing and leaving so soon. I wish I could go tomorrow. Someday, I will.

Just paid the last bill, car is packed except for food, everything fits well this year, too well, what did I forget?!? Departing for Reno TOMORROW morning. Finally, six months of planning about to be realized, whew now I can let go! See you all out there in the sun, dust, wind, and hopefully that's all.

My sweetie reminded me that my extra shade cloth needs bungees. I know it's not PC to order from Amazon right now, but free prime shipping and they will arrive on Monday! Booked hotel room for Monday night in Reno (Thanks Doc!). Not going to buttcrack out, but leave at some point when the line is reasonable (if it's reasonable).

I gotta say, I tried this for this years burn. I usually rush around the week before, madly creating, cleaning, packing, preparing. I thought to myself, "Not this year. This year's gonna be different. I'm starting in February to get ready." And I did. And I forgot everything. I'm lucky I remembered my tent. I mean, I brought lots of "stuff". Stuff I didn't need, stuff no one needed. Stuff no one's *ever* needed. I ended up with so much stuff, it never really all got unpacked. It'll be better next year. I'm gonna wait until the last frigging *day* to pack things. Yeah...that's it. That's what I'll do...and it'll be *GREAT* Or something.
