You are leaving a trail of those light sticks so you can find your way back, I hope.

stuart: like I said, you all were just too much for my little libido... I lost it at regyna's oysters comment.... had to go home and, um, have some good quality time with me...

*slides a gin and tonic to Stuart* Here's your drink.

Looks like you guys had a good time though...

Joel, here's another guinness for you... your stuff's behind the bar, here... in the little wooden chest... take whatcha need, babe...

yes, but did you physically intimidate everyone in the house you lived in?

i am fine with barely graduating... but he is a Junior with 10.5 credits and 22 are required to graduate.

so... if his grades don't improve... he might get 2 credit hours this semester... maybe 3.5 next semester with 6.5 to do as a senior... and he has mandatory math (sitting amongst the freshmen) and a mandatory language arts (sitting amongst the freshmen)...

hey, i barely made it out of high school, yet i have worked since i was 10 (paper routes) then part-time jobs until graduation.... the longest i was ever unemployed was after i left the military and blew through my own 401K in search of myself.

and here i am.

another beer please.

i think once he tastes "success" he'll want more... but he quits too early before he really encounters success.
Sounds like you need to come up with something that could be broken down to incremental success. Something that would give him a little taste of accomplishment and pride that would suck him into seeking more.

It's a real trick because he has to value, the accomplishment to make it worth doing in his mind. If there was a talent that you could use like ceramics, or a gearhead approach to cars it would be a lot easier.

Joel
I don't have any words of wisdom either. But I do have a tear (that's TARE) in my heart, because I started my struggle with major depression when I was 13, did okay in high school (although no where near my "full potential"), dropped out of college and started 15 years of under or un-employment. There are so many cracks for teens to fall through and not enough ways to catch them when they do. I don't know if a full blown authoritarian reaction would have helped, but I've lost things that I could have had and now never will. . .

You ate the goat and you can eat the damn donkey, but you're not eating me!
a) you'd be banned from the bar
b) I'd burrow my way out from your belly, alien style
c) you'd have to deal with the MrFishist
d) I'll report you to admin
e) Eat Woodrow if you have to start grilling e-playans
f) you'd be banned from the bar
g) I just knocked out so many teeth from your mouth you'll be sucking your tofu from a straw for 6 months
h) I don't think Tish will let you come in here anymore.

And I never ate any of the goat, oh sure I played with the guts once I came in to find them laying around, and I liked the idea of blowing up the stomach with helium but I didn't eat her.

There are two Bass ales in the office refrigerator. I know they are there. They are calling to me. I can hear their gentle bubbling.
