Once again, wandering the empty halls of the bar in the Geriatric ward. I needed some comedic advice, but no one was here. Alas.

Beer is Good for Bone
Beer is rich in a nutrient know to increase bone mineral density.

Barley and hops, ingredients in most beers, contain dietary silicon, which helps to strengthen bones. However, it has long been unclear if enough of the beneficial nutrient survives the brewing process. A new study from the University of California, Davis, concludes that plenty of the nutrient makes it through malting, and that dietary silicon is particularly prevalent in lighter-hued (less cooked) beers.

In fact, beer turns out to be one of the major sources of silicon in the Western diet. This finding has led some scientists to suggest moderate beer consumption could be useful in the fight against osteoporosis.

Does this mean Anheuser-Busch is going to start marketing Bud Light to middle-aged women? Those could be some pretty interesting ads.

what sort of "machining"?
I was using my lathe and mill, recently, to make a "spinning pinwheel of flaming death".......for a possible application to my MV for this year..........

I had to tweak the coupling for the reverse gear engage/disengage mechanism using the rotary table on the mill. Lots of projects running parallel to this year.

You’ve a lathe and mill, eh? I waited for years to have those two machines. Having them in the shop now is really a blessing. I get a lot of joy out of turning machine handles again.

Spinning, flaming pinwheels of death sound like good additions to any MV.

I could do for some coffee!! Thanks for hooking me up, yggie!!

Just checking on Le Chat's Contraption Ver 3.0... Wow, it sure has come a LONG ways!!!

Got me thinking of MV's now... had a line on a 6 HP Hit-n-miss, was gonna build it into a something, but lost space to build, and that thing weighed - well, a metric s#!tload. . Gonna do some serious garage cleaning in the near future...

Question - how about dietz lanterns? Not converted - you put a ring around it, they run about 10 hours on a fill of K-1, and stay lit in the wind... Would match the theme, and hey, if it's good enough for Lamplighters, it Oughta be good enough for an MV! Plus - no electrical draw...

Yeah, GOOD Koffee!

I know... something about that "Kerbang-chuffa chuffa chuffa kerbang" gets my heart thumping. I have a base idea and concept for an MV, it'd have to be pretty powerful to pull off what I want to do with it (ergo the "big 6" one lunger)... but it'd be kewl. And I don't think there's anything even near it. To keep with the theme, prolly a small maytag motor running a genny for electrics for lights and stuph.

My biggest prob is, as always, space. I would love to have a huge shop, but only have a small garage. Peh!!

PLUS... we're giving the Kantina Apokiliptika a shot in the butt, er, arm... but once I know it's back on track, an MV is in the werks...

How about some Makers with that Java???
