Well, fuck. I took the General Knowledge, Combination Vehicles, and the Air Brakes tests for the commercial driving instruction permit, and passed the most difficult of the three, the Air Brakes test, but not the other two! I can go back Wednesday and try again if I want to. (I've been having a hard time making myself read the driving manuals, so I decided to see how much more I need to study.)

Right now all I feel like doing is napping. Fucking gloomy weather!

I'm pretty certain it is by state. I got close on all of them. For the most part it was the ones I didn't really study for that I missed (although some of them I didn't care for the wording!

I might try again tomorrow. (Annoyingly, the Baraboo office is a part time office of the DMV-- which means it is open only on Tuesday and the first and third Wednesday of a month, and that it does NOT have the tests computerized. Only the computerized versions of the test have the results available as a print out with the section and page numbers of the missed questions! Maybe if I don't have time to take the tests again Wednesday, or don't pass, I will go into Madison and take them on a computer.)

After I pass the tests, I will have to wait until next week when the Schneider rep. gets off of vacation. (And I will have to remember to ask her about taking unpaid time off around the end of August/beginning of September... )

Huh. I thought I had something else to add, but it appears to have slipped out of my mind, and I can't see it lying on the floor or anything.... Fuck. (Maybe I should start taking Ginko again )

The tent I brought for last time was good enough, and reasonably portable. The sleeping bag and cot, not so.... Well, it could end up a lot like last year/my first year, where I spend much of August figuring out how I will get out there and survive. (With trips to K-Mart, ShopKo, Menards, Farm & Fleet, et al during spare moments.)

(The glass of wine I had earlier certainly has improved my mood... )

New gal that was hired this last fall, (seems like a go getter and posts here once in a while) went out with another fella here to start up all of the tractors to keep them running. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Yeah, I'm gonna fucking heal. I don't want to be dependent of "mother's little helper". I will allow the pain to visit me for while later. Sometimes its good to feel the pain cuz it makes you appreciate the well being even more.

The doctor was very nice and quick. I called the office and they said I had sick time and not to stress over taking the rest of the day off. So I will utilize this time in doing my packing and what not. Such a beautiful day outside. May wash the car later too. Now I just got this fucking bandage on my back.

Went back to the local DMV today, and passed both the General Knowledge test (one question wrong!) and the Combination Vehicle test (four wrong-- the maximum I could get wrong and still pass-- whew! ). I didn't actually get the instruction permit, since for that the DMV person wanted me to have already had my physical, and Schneider is supposed to arrange (and pay) for that. I tried to explain to her that I could still get the permit, but it would simply state "No Interstate or Intrastate Transport", but she kept telling me it would be pointless for me to have a permit with those restrictions. I decided against arguing further, since I can always go back and pick up the permit later. I don't have to pay anything until I get the actual permit, anyway.

Fucking gloomy weather here in Wisconsin today. We have a solid gray Wisconsin sky, a cold, biting wind, and, every now and again, snow flurries, although this far south the snow hasn't been sticking. (I think I heard further north they got 10" [of snow]!) I have been feeling tired and getting headaches all day, and I think the weather is to blame. )

Hey, I don't even have a license for a four wheeler and I got to monkey around in a truck. Repeatedly. Thank you, Kraft and Tyson, and Wal-Mart Distribution Centers, and Tombstone pizza, and ... well, we have a map of the states with little x's in each one, except Maine and other parts of New England ... TMI! TMI!

(Actually, the Tombstone pizza folks are real nice and have a pizza oven and a deep-freeze in the lounge area, open to the drivers. Too bad we're allergic to tomatoes!)
