And I came in here for some peace and quiet.
Well! This IS the thread where I made my circle of burner friends and found my home at home.

My 5000th Post on ePlaya.

Post by Lassen Forge » Fri Feb 17, 2012 1:41 pm

OK, kiddies, here it is. I FINALLY hit the big 5000 mark. Of all the places I wanted to spend it, I figured, I'd spend it in the place where I found my family, the place where our theme camp was spawned, and the place where I met my best friends, lovers, haters, fighters, psychos, moderators, and staph on the playa. It's been a looooooong time coming, but we muthafucking DID it, and we did it... HERE.

This... is for all those who I know, and I love, and I respect, and I hate... For all those who were on Baker, and those who have yet to feel the sting of dust in their eyes. Here's to Killbuck and Helitack and Kristi for making OUR camp happen, and giving me a place I LOVE to call home. Here's to Tish for making this bar happen, For those of us whose ashes have graced the Temple... To those who work their asses off in Khaki and DayGlo Yellow and Black and in greasy playa garb that make this thing happen. Here's to my FAMILY... may we all live long, love long, party hard, and watch the man burn for many, many, many years to come.

I love you guys... thank you for letting me be a part of your family!

yep. i'm doin it.

felt compelled to check in. it's been a while, i know.... *sigh*

reading through the last dozen pages or so... i am not writing what i thought i would.

i have missed this place. i have missed all of you.

i could wax poetic... i could blather on about what i've been up to... but i think i have to keep it simple. address key issues. then get to what's important.

a) no big volcano this year. ticketing madness, etc. BUT (speaking to those long lost... Longlanks is indeed the North Bay Regional, and we've recently reconnected, AND has commissioned my hubby et al to create their CORE burn structure for this year. still waiting for final confirmation, but look for a mini-volcano around the man. yep. that's our Humboldt Pyroglyphics burn sculpture crew. so there's HIS ticket.)

b) I wish i knew where a bunch of those others are... so many from way back when that i wonder (and hope for the best) how they're doing.

c) i do keep in touch with Mozy (but don't tell anyone)

d) I do not yet have a ticket. but that's nothing new. i am still affiliated with P3 Oasis at 8&C and am ramping up ERP (Emergency Resource Procurement - cuz that's what i do. i make connections. find things for people.) and am not worried at ALL about being on playa for my 11th year this year. tickets have always shown up when i needed them, and i don't expect this year to be any different.

And now for the *really* important stuff....

i miss y'all. i can't wait to go home. i'm drinking Steelhead Pale Ale (brewed a few blocks from my house), and a'sippin on some makers. join me? or.....

what'll it be, baby?
