Fuck the Paiute Indians selling their "guest" tix
Do you refer to this as an observation?DoriumLux wrote:Over your head. It's funny how you guys try to dig deeper but always seem to dig around the main point of things. It's fascinating. I hope it's just to be irritating.
I would call it a shallow attempt at poisoning the well.
You clearly underestimate everyone here.
That explains a lot.
Your prejudice and ignorance is showing.

Re: Black Rock City is in N. Paiute Territory
Well said. I have always despised the way the europeans came to this land and slowly but surely have ruined it, and imposed greater and greater limits on the indian nations that were here before us and on their way of life. Pushed them on to the rez's full of poverty, unemployment, drug and alcohol abuse, or into the underground in mainstream society. Taken away their freedom to pursue their way of life, fishing, hunting etc. Here in Michigan the various tribes have built a number of casino's, that are making life better for themselves, and improving their way of life. It hasnt come without some dissent in the tribes, but I do get a big smile on my face when I see how much of the white man's money they take. And, I see no problem with a Paiute woman trying to make some extra cash to help take care of her family. Tell me some other commodity that is sold in this country that isnt marked up as it works its way through the supply chain. And the other thing that pisses me off is seeing how much garbage gets strewn about the 447 into Fernley. Ignorance at how to secure the load at best, apathy that it isnt their land so who the fuck cares at worst.RaineFX wrote:What the hell! I can't beleive anybody would say fuck the Paiutes this is Paiute Territory the very ground our ancestors bleed there blood and a few that did survive has us to show the world that we can not be defeted!!!!
Genocide still excist to this day! Yeah I would sell a Ticket if I could cause this may feed my family or provide clothes for my children, maybe contribute back to the very playa you play on...I got a Gift Ticket for Free. But had to go to Will Call with I.D. to pick it up...
Yeah the Natives are Soverign and create there own rules....you guys are lucky you can go through Pyramid Lake Rez to access the Playa...If you go this way...
This ground is sacred to us...we are all not from Pyramid Lake...however our Stone Mother rest there.....
Get a grip... those like you are still creating problems for us Real Indians in America....You think all of us get a hand out...we get less services cause we are Indian...foreigners get better health coverage and benefits then those of us who the U.S. Government promised for this beautiful land in which you use up like wolves...
learn your history of the area then you may know what our ancestors, grandparents...even our own fathers had to face....
For a better tomorrow respect our Native Grounds..they are sacred and full of spirit....most people respect us on the Playa not disrespect...
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

On the subject of thread drift:
If you don't have a sewing machine, and know how to use it, have your insignias attached by a professional tailor.
If you try to do it yourself, most likely your hand and patience will not have the discipline necessary to sew a straight and even line, you will go off line, and wind up with thread drift.

LOL from the looks of what we see on the news with all those tea baggers, birthers and other 'grass roots' protesters at the town hall meetings, we have already begun reaping the rewards of our worderful public education system. Or are those all the home-schoolers? One can hope.theCryptofishist wrote: One of the foundations of our economy has been educated workers. Where can it come from?
I know I see a lot of waste in the ed. system........lots of overhead and such......layers of administraters, "special" programs (I don't mean special ed.), pet projects, etc, etc.......
Isn't education one of the biggest "slices" of the state budget pie?
I'd much rather see funding in education than some of the "goof ball" things we spend money on now........
I'd really like to see gov. pare back all the "fluff" and, get down to the basics, education of our youth being one big one.......
I'm just seeing an empty bucket......so, if nothin's there, what do we do?
No matter your race, sex, etc, etc........education is the key, IMHO.......

Not exactly true. You have to put things in the proper context. Compulsory education was instituted after WW1 when it was determined that in order to staff an army made up of such things as airplanes and tanks and trucks and having such things as radios, there needed to be a population with enough education to be trained in how to maintain them. In order to defend the nation in time of war, there needed to be a draft pool of people with at least enough educational wherewithal to do basic math.
Prior to the end of WWI there was no requirement for education. In fact, Redwood City High School was the only high school in existence between San Francisco and San Jose until after compulsory education was established after the war.
Education's impact in economics is only a side issue. The primary issue is defense.

Then maybe it would be better for the Org to provide $160 cash to any local who shows up asking for it. They can then choose to buy a ticket with it, or keep the $160.That's right you fucking douche bags. Why the fuck are you selling your $160.00 tickets for over $300.00

It's not like there aren't parallels on the left for all these examples.........but, you never point them out.......
Surely, you can see that?
A pissing contest is not what I'm trying for here, but, really, is not as acceptable to have opposing views and using the same tactics as others have used time and again, voice your opposition?
Jeeze, sometimes the lack of respect for opposing viewpoints seems so prevalent.......
Can you not say that good people can disagree, and, still be ok?
Can't others use tried and true tactics, used for so long exclusively by the "left", to voice their discontent?
Are you saying the "tea baggers" et al, are unintelligent? I'd submit the intellect you point to is just as clearly visible on both sides.......
*grumbling*.......

If the democratic party or anyone else is using fake "local opposition" to sabotage political meetings en masse, I would love to know about it.
The republicans have been caught at this time and again.
And it hasn't seemed necessary to build a billion dollar propaganda machine for the pro-democracy forces either.
Cute to say that both parties are the same, but not accurate.
Not that I wouldn't replace both of them with something better....

yeah, right, the dems are just a bunch of super cool people who never lie or manipulate anything, or, maybe just not as much? nope, CNN, CBS, NPR, ABC, etc, etc are worth much more than a billion, I'd say....

nothing kind or helpful to say for that one, from me anyway.

I'm with ya all the way on that one......
and, of course, all accusations against the reps are totally accurate, whereas the same accusations against dems, are false......

Now if you're talking about lobbyists and contributions, they all look dirty.
I still see differences there, but nearly all over the line.
Gee, pollyanna?
As you know, I helped send politicians to prison recently, mostly democrats.
And as someone involved in local politics, I hear about tactics used here.
So hardly head in the sand.
The republicans were caught not just organizing fake crowds but busing them town to town.
Pretty blatant and hard to lie about.
Organizing opposition is one thing, but this was nixon dirty tricks stuff.
As for intelligence, it is very hard to measure, but if you want to know how many stupid people listen to the propaganda machine and really buy in, even to the stuff no one expects to be taken seriously, talk to the people selling weapon supplies.
As you may know, I am a gun owning democrat, that exotic animal the republican party thinks long extinct.
Some companies I deal with, routinely get calls from people so nuts they won't even send them ammunition.
They are usually repeating some nonsense about their guns being taken away, and I mean NOW.
Why they think ammo could be shipped to them if this was happening, no one can figure out.
But plenty of nutcases buy all the big lies out there.
One of the companies I hear this from is very right wing and politically active, to the extent that I have complained of some stuff they have sent me.
When they think someone is nuts, better believe they are.
This sort of call seems to be pretty routine for them lately.
One caller thought the national guard was taking weapons in his neighborhood.
No word on how he thought he could get weapons or ammo mailed in.
I'm happy to say, they told him they were out.

Gyre, when was the last time a Republican was caught with tens of thousands of dollars in bribe money in his freezer? And I will forget for the moment the corruption surrounding ACORN and will put people on notice for what is about to explode concerning the National Endowment for the Arts.
The corruption is so deep with the democrats that it is basically "business as usual"

Just as we get comfortable with fire, politicians seem to get complacent very quickly.
If they are unethical people, this comes out in a hurry.
It usually only takes a little digging to find dirt here, but I do live in an unusually corrupt city.
I hope to dismantle two city agencies brick by brick, before or after I leave.
Wish me luck.
For what it's worth, most of the politicians offered bribes recently here, turned them down.
But many didn't even have the sense to pretend they weren't bribes.
One made threats about exposure on camera.
Prison now.

I have yet to hear of democrats using similar tactics.Perhaps "look the other way" is a better term?
I'm on the call and email lists for activity so I actually get the emails.
I only hear republicans bragging about things that democrats shrink at even being accused of.
As long as this attitude persists without apology, kind of hard to pretend there is no difference.
If I'm missing something, let me know.
????I can't believe you think, in any sense, this is a one sided tactic......
So the blundering democrats are suddenly James Bond and never get caught?
They seem to get caught every time they do anything dumb.
Maybe it gets lost amid the constant fraudulent accusations in the propaganda machine, but I notice.
I think he was the only one at his level.and, you think Nixon was the only "dirty trickster"? but, also claim no "head in sand"?........
He has still gotten away with most of what he did.
And as for recently, no I don't think the tactics are even remotely close.
Show me I'm wrong.
And among other differences, not attempting to dismantle democracy in the last administration and making a good start at it too counts.
We have a very long way to go just to get back to the protections we enjoyed years ago.
I hope they don't fuck that up.
I don't really have to post all the many inadequacies I see in the democratic party to be fair, do I?
It's not even close.
One at least pretends to represent the citizenry.
Would I be thrilled to vote for someone that did more?
No, I'm politically active because everything is so perfect now.
And I have worked with acorn too.
Never seen anything like what is portrayed, so can't say much.
We had someone booted out just on a suspicion of mild impropriety though.
