Wow Ivy! I have that EXACT same pattern in a fabric I've used in my dollhouse. Except for the scale, your sippy cup matches my dollhouse kitchen!

I'll have to rustle up some photos ........

Sippy cup, good idea!

So I've, uhhhh, let's see....

-I did some laundry and cleaned the house.
-Boyfriend discovered e-containing jelly treat leftever from the other weekend that was stored for safe keeping in the package of batteries that was already put into the misc BM box. Whew, that was close! Probably the best thing that's been done so far, otherwise we'd be rotting in customs this time next week.
-Rebar bent.
-Truck oil has been changed.
-Flowers bought to make a bunch of hairpin sunflowers.
-Came up with good idea for shade, testing it later today.
-Slowly eating all the food in the fridge.
-haven't panicked yet about lack of time left to do everything, so that's pretty good.

AntiM, that's not my sippy cup--it's just the first picture I found online.

Though I confess I was a little bit excited about the cows. Makes me think of PJ.

You can drink out of it.
It has a handle.
And it doesn't spill.

It's threefold, tanc.
1) keep the dust out of the drink
2) especially for us chicas, an extra layer of protection. it came from the dosing thread, or maybe the solo female thread. it's not too common, but things do get put into drinks. a cap helps prevent this,
3) reduce drink spillage

Well we had our camp's dress rehersal on Sat (check out the pix www.spikesvampirebar.com ) and are pretty much ready to go! wooohoo! Sunday we broke down our decorations, the dome and did some last minute painting. I can't WAIT for all of you to see it. When you come by for a drink keep in mind that it was esentially 6 people who put this whole thing together.

We should have an E-Playan drink night at Spikes? ANy takers?

I'm adding openwork doormats to my shopping list; with luck I can find some at a local dollar store. I'd rather not track mud into my brand new tent if I can avoid it.

Five things.

I only have FIVE things to get, as opposed to a thousand.

They are, batteries, prayer flags, an oil change, a strap wrench and groceries.

I don't even have to buy ice because I've been making it.

Ahhh...love it when things get done :)

Clothes mostly packed.
Bike banners done.
Kitchen box staged, almost packed.
Dishes and foodware packed.
Spare costumes and bedding packed.
First aid kit stocked and packed.
Larry's tools, straps and heavy duty stuff sorted and packed.
All batteries charged.
Heads in the Clouds unassembled and staged for packing.
Housesitter knows about senile cat, the one who no longer will use a litter box, only newspaper next to the litterbox.

Three radiation treatments down, seven to go. I'll bring photos for the curious.

Let's see, I, uh, hmmmm, what did I do yesterday?

-took my bike in out of the rain.
-paid rent.
-watched a Margaret Cho video while making hair flowers so I can be sunflower head girl.
-charged all of my camera batteries.
-dried my laundry.
-the boy bought a bunch of socks.
-tried on googles. The only ones I can find fog up. I'll take it the humidity in the desert is rather, um, low, so that shouldn't be a problem.
-wondered if it's ever going to stop raining so I can dry the stuff that's been sitting outside. It's still raining today...
-stocked up on my poochie's meds for while I'm gone.
-cleaned out the fridge and impressed my housesitter by doing so. She knows me too well.

Done:
  • Projects,
    Car checked out and cleared,
    Packed,
    Staged.
Tonight, I start loading up the back and doing a dulce de leche cheesecake to gift my campmates with when I get out there.

Tomorrow, I take care of everything I've let slide the past three weeks: bills, housecleaning, laundry.

Thursday, I get water and groceries, finish loading the back and get a big gold-plated stack o' sleep.

Friday, sleep in late, tie up loose ends, load up roof rack and GO! TO THE PLAYA!!! :!:

Oh, how I wish I'd gotten this catalog a few weeks ago...

Just got the Carol Wright Gifts catalog in the mail today and they're having a sale on glow-in-the-dark pebbles. Pack of 100 for $5, additional sets $4.

So perfect for the camp...

Oh man, I'm never gonna be ready. I suppose that goes without saying though.

Still need to buy:
dust masks
possibly sleeping mat of some kind if I can't find the one I know I have *somewhere*

Still need to pack:
EVERYTHING

Things to take to other people:
deliver tub o' my stuff to friends driving out there
deliver extra empty tubs to same friends
get my bike into my car again so I can also deliver it to friends (ugh - Ever try to get a 26" mountain bike into an '88 Oldsmobile Cutlass? Not fun.)

Luckily I'm not leaving until Tuesday since we're flying out there, but I have to have all my big heavy stuff packed and delivered to friends' house by Thursday. Hmmm...that would be tomorrow...

I'm about 50% packed.

To do: grocery shopping
prepare a couple of meals
2 or 3 last minute costumes (I keep waking up in the middle of the night with new ideas)
throw the rest of this shit into bins
throw those bins into my truck
double check my lists
get the fuck outta dodge.
It's all about the squirrels.

Went to the much touted PFI last night, to find that their canned hummous is exactly the same as the Souq's canned hummous. Oh well. Got more, anyway, can't forget the paprika!!!! (The zatar is already packed)

TJ run - check
Safeway run - check
I already know what i forgot.

I decorated my floor last night with plastic baggies full of food stuffs. I feel like i'm taking too much, probably cause i think i forgot to eat last year and i'm gonna try not to do that one again.

Trying sweater bags this year for my clothes. I think i have too many clothes. It's those damn costumes i keep dreaming up.

Having a shade structure emergency. But it's gonna be ok. Good mantra good mantra.

Not sleeping well anymore - i try but my brains a buzz. I feel like shit. but it' gonna be ok.

realised we never finished reconstructing my stilts, or deciding on lowering them.

haven't cleaned off the fiddle, or sealed the guitar. crap!

oh well. we'll see what happens, it's gonna be playa-riffic any way you cut it. if i have water, and a pair of underwear, and sunscreen, i can survive for a week.

Actually, just make it water and sunscreen. Don't ask me how I know.

On a different note: Now that she's single, I wonder how many guys (and gals) are hoping, that by the end of the event, they can cross Lydia off their "To-Do List"...

Oh, like you people weren't thinking the same thing.

Arrgh...false start, Reboot!

Twenty-one days of packing bolloxed in one trip to the storage locker! Found all my stuff from last year and kept saying, "Oooh, yeah, need this!" "Oooh, yeah, definitely don't leave that!" So now I have a loaded car — and I still haven't loaded the Pile o' Schtuph™ in the living room yet! :x

Time for some creative re-packing and consolidating. It's well on track, though. And I still have to charge-run down-recharge my new rechargable batteries a couple more times before they're at peak. Do it out here where I have near-unlimited juice to fire 'em up with.

Although the plan was to pack today, I've been finishing up work all day instead. Gah. Thank goodness for the big truck that doesn't require any care in packing, just toss it all in.

Tonight hopefully I get to finish up some last minute sewing and gluegunning.

  • Consolidated three boxes into one, with smart packing,
Consolidated at least two bags into one smaller one (ziplocs rule 8) )
Labeled all the beads for whatever they'll represent in the Werewolf LARP's gift bead strings, with a few left over (I'll think of something they can represent),
Bike tricked out and ready to go,
    Featherbed duvet washed,
    Featherbed cleaned,
Rechargable batteries almost ready to charge again.
Cat's starting to twig what's going on. He knows I'm packing serious now, and he dun' like it one little bit. Or maybe he's just howling because his nemesis, the washer and dryer, are going ;)
