Just ordered a Tackikilt... pretty dope, only 100$.

Also picked up a full size bbq... not going to try to survive off canned foods this year!

Picked up 2 x 55gallon water barrels.

It was a productive weekend.
Can you at least admit that nuclear explosions are awesome!?

Trailer! genius! Wish I had the cargo room. I'm hoping I still have some room for trike cargo on the back after the subwoofer gets built. :D :D

We'll see how difficult it is to drag a trailer with the potentially soft playa this year. I'm adding a subwoofer too - the PA speakers I used are capable of obnoxious volume but they don't have much punch. What are you planning to use? Car audio stuff is all so bulky and heavy - I am attempting to modify a computer subwoofer to work on 12v.

I got a couple of these, 2x50 watts, STMicroelectronics TDA7492 chip, I guess whatever a class D means, bridgeable (maybe a later bigger version) small 2.5" x3" and one of these powers the two skull speakers fine and loud. I'm splitting the audio out from an ipod or whatever, to one of these for the speakers, and then to another with low pass filters to the subwoofers (4 tang band 4 inchers.) 12Volts should do it. I'm wiring some pots before the amps so I can adjust the volume of either the speakers or the sub. I tried a passive sub crossover, but could never find speakers that really matched well enough. I've had a lot of fun with the tripath chip amps, lepai, and sonic t-amp, but wanted a little more power this year.

Made this giant light up flower to plant in our dome. Also added lights to my parasol and made a fiber optic whip. Woo! I love when my playa projects start coming together...

Very cool! You just did a smaller (arguably much more sensible) version of what I did. I'm running a tripath amp as well for my main speakers. It does something like 80Wx2 at 39 volts, so I have a boost power supply, and I got a little channel mixer for volume control. The subwoofer wasn't part of the original plan but the PA speakers I have don't really do much low end. I found a used, powered subwoofer on ebay that's identical to my computer sub, only without the rest of the speakers and so on. I'm taking it apart to just bypass the AC-DC power supply and run the amp from DC batteries directly. Hopefully it doesn't murder my battery life - it may need to become a detachable part of the system that I only connect when I'm in camp.

Placement and Early Entry confirmed. Woo hoo!

Yesterday I went a little crazy at the fabric store. The first project is in time out, I have to rethink my design as it just isn't working how I wanted it too. Next will be various shimmery skirts, tube tops and a mesh cloak thing.

Thanks! It was pretty easy to throw together.

We're camping at the fire station, BRC-ESD #3, 3:00 and C, behind the med tent. Look for the big red heart. I don't know where in our camp we'll be yet, there are 150+ of us, but our camo dome should be pretty easy to see. Hoping for street side placement, but not sure yet.

That's really nice. rechargeable batteries and a solar panel! You're doing some very cool things. I have a very similar amp and the voltage increaser, but I got a little scared, the fan on the amp didn't seem to engage. I worried a little about overheating etc. plus rattling on a trike. (although I've been saving them for Burning Man.) I have a small fear of using my good ingredients some times. Then my car gets too small for all the stereo possibilities.

Very cool flower, kitty!

Do you really want some? I can bring you a jar or a tube if you like. Or if you just want a fix come to Asparagus Forest's Straya Day event on Tuesday. My 3rd suitcase will mostly be bringing food for that. :)

One of the ingredients for my ironman inspired chest armor arrived today. It will house my camera, a hands free red light in the center of my chest, some cargo rings, possibly my ID, etc. The red ring for the light up portion showed up and it is INTENSEly bright. I might need to hack the control module a bit to make it dimmer, cuz it burned circular afterimages into my retinas even in broad daylight:

Also made some more progress on the battery pack batman belt (yes there is a cat in nearly every photo I share, unless I go to the trouble of cropping them out):

LED work lights installed and wired up on the back of my trailer. Planned this out when I still thought we'd be setting up in the dark, but they will still be useful because the back of my trailer is inside my dome when it's all set up. I now have house lighting in my dome!

Camo fez? What's more Burning Man that that? Awesome. And fiber optic whips always make me jealous. Nice work!

I reserved my rental playa bike today. Hopefully it's not a janky POS.
