I've always used those lab-type goggles but this year I wanted to be COOL so I bought some of these:

But a friend just told me that if they're anti-fog, they're bad because the dust gets in thru the little holes. Is this really a big problem with goggles?
Anti-fog goggles = bad?

Anti-fog is a great thing. Completely sealed goggles lead to you constantly taking them off to air out, which leads to dust getting in your eyes.
The only thing that's really a problem is if the goggles are open on both sides to where air is flowing directly across your eye. If they're only open a little bit on one end, there's no airflow. Your eyes are perfectly capable of flushing out the occasional spec of dust. The thing you're avoiding is having a LOT of dust or having it fly in with some speed behind it.
Those goggles look fine. If anything, they'd be a little too sealed for my tastes.

I have military goggles of the kind used in Iraq and on navy carriers. There are lots of little holes to let sweat and water vapor out. I wear contact lenses, so I'm _very_ aware of playa powder. I can assure you that no dust gets into my eyes when I wear the goggles.

It can be but the pair(s) i have all have a small piece of foam buit in just over the holes to act as a micro filter. Not perfect but mine are ski goggles and i don't think the designer had playa dust in mind. Just the same I run them under water once a day and wipe em out with a LFC (lint free cloth) and it does the trick. Is this really a big problem with goggles?
Desert dogs drink deep.
