Thursday BRC -> Reno??

Anyone know of someone leaving playa early? Looking for a ride to reno Thursday morning or afternoon.

My brother’s getting married on the east coast the Sunday of temple burn, and Saturday is prep day. If I attend the burn, I will have to catch a red eye from Reno Thursday night... only getting back to Reno turns out to be harder than I thought. The Burner Express doesn’t run back to Reno until Friday at noon.

Anyone have some extra space?? I would be packing fairly light- a pack and two smaller bags max!

Assuming you don't arrange a ride in advance...

• Once you get to BRC, submit a notice at Playa Info near Centre Camp, requesting a ride on _____, with ___ gear. Don't forget contact info...
  The ride back is a gift, but it's nice if you can offer some money for gas.
• Running out of time, no offers, get to the radio station at BRC and ask if they can give a shout-out.
• There's "always" someone leaving (YRMV). Get your luggage and your ass out to Gate Road near Gate. Thumb works, but a sign saying Reno works better.
• Some bad news. Sometimes we're not allowed to leave BRC, or can't. Exit closed while a minor is searched for, highway closed due to accident, washout or brush fire, or a rare rain closes driving on the playa as everything gets stuck, or a light rain beside the playa gathers at the edge and exiting is blocked. So the consensus is, leave BRC the day before your flight, so you're more likely to be guaranteed to get there in time for the flight.
• So keep an eye on the weather. If they're calling for rain on Thursday, you'd better get out before the rain. Wednesday?
• You also need to be clean enough for them to let you on the flight. Leaving a day early means you can get cleaned up while staying over-night in Reno.

Perhaps instead of a Thursday red-eye, a very early flight on Friday is safer? Then if weather/road-conditions/exodus allows, leave Thursday afternoon and overnight in Reno? (Cheap hotel online rates. I've seen Sands Regency Reno booked from the parking lot for $30 a night, right after I walked in and had to pay $100.)
