Hey all - Despite having a phenomenal week and being a 6 yr burner, my campmates and I made a mistake of accepting a "g^nga brownie" from a freindly blond mid-20's female dressed like a fairy about 20 minutes before they lit the temple. We were advised to eat 1/2 the brownie per person. The fairy handed out at least 30 brownies to people in the crowd.
About 40 minutes later, I found myself delirous and lost somewhere near my camp. My other campmates found their way back, but were having heavy head spins. Two ended up vomiting and passing out. I ended up tended to my girlfreind who couldn't sit up to drink water. I was in the process of heading for medical attention when I passed out. I woke up once gasping for air and found my campmates in a deep snore - and then I passed out again. We woke up nearly 10 hours later with headaches and the groginess lasted the full next day. I have significant experience with many altered states and this was unlike any previous induced delerium.
While I take full responsibility for any result of my action, I wanted to know if anyone else was nuked by those brownies...or in the slim chance, knew who the girl is. I'm not sure if it was an extra strong dose of h-sh or something other chemical, but if those had been unwittingly mixed with a sedative (or alcohol), the depressant effects could have killed us.
Signed,
Burned :(

brownies can have VERY powerful, inadvertent effects, even if there's nothing in them besides what's advertised.
don't eat 'em unless you know the baker. and even then, eat a quarter first, wait a half hour, then another quarter, and so on.
serious psychosis is possible even for people who've never had issues with smoking.
the above is based on second-hand reports...but i suspect a search on erowid will reveal similar testimony...
maybe there are particular cooking techniques that make 'em more or less toxic...?

MJ brownie on Temple Burn
I recommend never taking anything the night after the camp of lab rats next door leaves. Either that or always bring one for your own camp. Even if she gets mad at you from time to time and always holds up the group her testing skills as a safety net are almost as essential as a cooler on the playa. I'm losing faith in you Dr. Dizzy. I bid you God-speed in your search but just to warn you I’ve been looking for years for that damn magical fairy. Or was it a pixie. Either way they’re extremely hard to locate.
