Welcome to eplaya. Luckily you're from the bay area, where the density of burners is the largest of anywhere on the planet.leroy_ware wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 2:51 amHi,

The best way to join a camp is to introduce yourself and tell a bit about you. What gets you excited? What type of things interest you? There are local regional groups that you can connect with to make some connections. https://regionals.burningman.org/region ... h-america/
I hope you get to make it to the playa in 2022. It's just 8 short months off.

NO YOU DON'T!!!
Get your shit together, show up, find a spot, set up a tent, help out with your neighbors, and explore.
It's really as simple as that!

Leroy, welcome to ePlaya!
I'm seconding Mr Sham's suggestion. From the regionals page, you will find local FB groups, happy hours, and art projects. Your chance of finding a camp and finding tickets are greatly improved by in-person, face-to-face networks, work networks, and school networks.
Plus burners have the best dance parties, year around!
Many SF Bay Area art projects need volunteers to build them which is a good network to find what you seek.
As always, if you don't car camp, start getting some practice and gear. If you don't have gear, it is often possible to borrow from friends before buying. If you can see yourself on the playa with outfits/costumes, that is another element of preparation, and works year-around for burner parties.
The camp vs solo vs a few friends for virgins debate springs eternal in the burner world. Ignore the static. But also inventory your special skills which might apply to a camp or art project.
