Planet Earth, BRC’s favorite 80’s and 90’s nightclub is back for our 10th year on playa and we’re seeking some excellent humans to join our crew!


Hey everyone, I’m excited to announce that Planet Earth, Black Rock City’s only fully enclosed 80’s and 90’s dance club has been placed at 2:15 and Esplanade for 2022 and we will be bringing you Music With Words once again for our 10th year at the burn! We have some openings for new members this year and we’re looking for ticketed campers to join our group of awesome individuals.


Who are we? Planet Earth is a smaller esplanade sound camp based out of the SF Bay Area, operating a 2000+ square foot enclosed nightclub and bar specializing in hits from the 70’s-00’s (but heavy on 80’s and 90’s). We play new wave, synthpop, goth, industrial, funk, disco, hair bands, 90’s alternative and more. Come have a drink, sing along to your favorite music with words and dance your ass off with us - every night is 4 different themes with 8 hours of music on 2 dance floors! What can you expect when camping with Planet Earth? Our private camp area has our own locked portos, kitchen with cookware, showers, shaded lounge area, and camp power (extra fee for dedicated 30W power). This year we’re trying something new with an option to buy water when you register. Did I mention amazing people? My favorite part about camping with PE is the people. It’s incredibly well-run by a group of really solid humans who are true to the principles and are passionate about bringing our gift of music to you all, fully operating every single night of burn week. Oh yes, and the enthusiastic and adoring reactions when you tell people who you camp with!


What are we looking for in new members? Ticketed, radically self-reliant, chill (low drama) people who believe in our mission and are willing to put in some sweat equity to make this magic happen! We run a tight ship and we have a mandatory requirement of 2-3 camp shifts and 1 teardown shift (4 hours each) for every camper. It’s a pretty diverse camp of all ages and all walks of life and we strive to make PE a safe place for everyone. This is why we also require campers to be fully vaccinated per CDC guidelines.
