Storage of small propane canisters

When it comes to the fuel storage rules around propane, do they apply to the small Coleman propane tanks - the 16oz ones used for camping stoves - or similar small canisters used for Jet Boils, etc?

If I have more than the one that’s in use, do I need to store them within these regulations?
