Will bungee balls over ropes tear?

Will bungee balls over ropes tear?

I'm refining my monkey hut design. I saw a suggestion that you run a para cord along the ground from front to back and then attach you bungee balls to that to tie down the tarp. This mean you don't need rebar or lags for every tie down. But I suspect the stretch cord on the bungee balls is going to get sawn through by the para cord. Has anyone used bungees over rope and had it hold up?
