Drycleaning playafied formal wear?

Post by tisha2 » Fri Sep 23, 2005 1:42 pm

Does anyone have any experience with this? I wore a fancy-schmancy dress on burn night that is of course coated in playa dust. It is *definitely* not hand-washable. I'm wondering if drycleaning chemicals will interact wierd with the playa dust and damage the dress?

They will dryclean OK. I had my rengarb and a couple of my nicer pieces done, they came out OK. I told our drycleaner (who looked at it with disgust, BTW, whnen the dust got all over her counter) it was alkali desert dust, tho I don't think it would have made a diff.

Tuxedos from burn night get dry cleaned pretty routinely with no ill effects that I've noticed.

Not Renegade, Renfaire...

However, I played a pretty mean Baritone Bugle in my Air Force D&B Days... (Red Dragons)

I'm sure, but I'm still afraid to dry clean the el-wire. I just vacuumed the jacket.
