dreams

Post by dragonflyannie » Sat Sep 13, 2003 10:17 am

every night for months prior to bm and every night thereafter...
my brain is obviously needing to work things out regarding the event, but i still can't figure it out. some dreams are pleasant, and some dreams are downright nightmarish. i guess i get the best of both worlds, kind of like the event itself at times. but i still wonder why i dream about it so much, when other people i ask never dream about it.

the weirdest one's i have are when there is bodies of water out on the playa (which is suppose to symbolize change, or so i'm told) as well as trees. people are rushing to get the spots under the trees and it's pure chaos!

another one i've had was pretty freakin' scary. you know those wood spindle type things the electric companies use for cable? they were being flung out of the man during the burn, on fire.. into the crowd. once again, pure chaos.

one peaceful dream i had that i can remember was of me getting to burning man and no one was there. just me and the playa, but it was burning man, there was no doubt in my mind.

Or maybe it means that you need to get out of bed and go pee.

Cute PJ...but no I think she is being called back to one of her past lives...it might have been at a time when Lake Lahontan was still there or something. Of course with all the people peeing on the playa this year, some of her nightmares might have been related to that....from the looks of all the pee-spots it looked like half of BRC was trying to raise the water table a bit.

I've only had good dreams of BRC.....I hope it stays that way.

As I mentioned in another thread, after the event I've had nothing but pleasant playa dreams, until last night, which wasn't a playa dream at all. Last night, my dream was of a buffet, which consisted mainly of leftover, but still tasty, fare from the previous night (dreamtime). It was to be a last gathering, and the music played in the dream persisted in my head until I drank my morning coffee.

All in all, pretty melancholy.

Interestin'! What sort of construction do you put on that, Cas-man, if I may ask.

Night before last I was at dreamtime BM, held on an asphalt parking lot with a big wooden structure--sorta like the stands at a rodeo ground--with most of the camping under it. Chaotic scene out in front of the structure. Cars parked freakin' everywhere, and a lot of the dream activity centered around trying to retrieve something that had rolled underneath one of 'em. Some sex was also involved, and my wife was in attendance, perhaps not just incidentally.

Been mostly dreamless since return from aborted B.Man trip. But last night had an interesting one: explained circumstances had put me in charge of chaperoning a large, mostly-domesticated male lion. He was a bit on the scrawny side--protruding ribs--but otherwise pretty ordinary except that he talked. He wasn't the most interesting conversationalist as he was obsessed with eating all the humans around. But he always conceded to my recommendations that, no, he shouldn't eat all these humans as that would lead to annoying consequences for him--and anyway his daily dinner of a huge platter of ground beef would be coming around in just a few hours. On one thing the lion and I fully agreed: we both thought that Las Vegas was a crappy place.

I'm not sure. I'm into recycling, so that could play a role. I also hate wasting food, so I'll eat day-old, and drink day-(or more)-old coffee. I also like finding good stuff in what others throw out.

But it could also be a reference to the newbie experience of 2k2, vs the experience of 2k3. Jibes with the "last gathering" thing too.

Strangely, I happened to find a CD that had the tune on it I mentioned in the dream; it was a Narada CD, a collection of sorts. I played it by chance tonight, just because I was looking for soothing massage music, and it caught me off-guard.

Dreamt I was trying to help my friend Nina get ready for her wedding (she did get married at the temple this year).

She kept flaking out, running off while we were preparing and leaving me holding various ritual items. Or she'd send me to find something - and her camp was huge and I could never find it - a sense of urgency rising.

Later there was some sex but I can't remember with whom.
It's all about the squirrels.

And since I'll never tell, you should be safe.

Oops.

I dreamed last night about a mythical night in BRC. . . The sun had just gone down. I apparently had no responsibilities that needed to be taken care of, no volunteer shifts scheduled, etc. I was free to just enjoy the city with my friends.

I'm going to do what it takes to make that a reality more often next year!

Can I print out a copy of that message and present it to you at the beginning of the 2004 event, T?

Yes, and you can send it to me any time I start talking wild gibberish about organizing another all-inclusive theme camp with a group kitchen too!

Shared space and energy, individual responsibility. That is my new ideal model of a theme camp/village.

yeah, first playa dream of this yr came to me about a week ago...

contents moved around the idea I had made a chariette, made from solid steel, but when I got done welding it, it turns itself into the fire blankets for easy storage to get out to BM, the horse was one demensional, but he whinnied because he was alive. but he was flat with no feet touching. the whole thing was set on top of 2 skateboards, which I thought would run on the playa when i got it out there, but I set it up and jumped in gave the reins a pull and it started to go, the horse whinnied, and then i realized it wasnt actually on the ground but more like hover gliding...
....very coooooL....
Names pinemom, but my friends call me "Piney".
