More on Generators: Vortex?

Post by TheRock » Fri Jul 28, 2006 6:57 pm

Thanks for the Quiet Generators thread! Very informative!

Question: has anyone heard of Vortex generators??

If so, how do they compare in noise, exhaust and value for buck. (searches on eplaya produce stuff about smoke rings, and i don't think that is what i am looking for)
cheers!

The only Vortex Generators I have ever heard of are for aircraft. They are located on the wings to stabilize airflow during a high angle of attact and reduce stall speed. Most often seen on STOL kits and military aircraft with swept back wings. This is not to say that an electrical generator with that name does not exist. I have been shopping generators for Illumination Village for 10 months and I have never come across such an item. Ended up with an MQ70 Whisperwatt.
Those who think they can and those who think they can't are both right.
