Tap water in or around Alturas?

Post by d_lite » Fri Aug 11, 2006 10:11 pm

Hey there!

Our camp is hoping to fill a few drums up with plain ol' tap water (about 150 gallons worth) on our way down to the playa from the PNW. We're hoping to fill up in or around Alturas to save weight in our already-loaded Penske.

Any suggestions and contact information any of you might have is *greatly* appreciated!

Thank you,
Donna

Chevron Station

Couple years ago, there was a hose in back of the
Chevron station at the main highway junction.

Would you like spring water?

50 miles north of Alturas on Hwy 139 is the Southern Enterance to the Lava Beds National Monument. 3 miles up that road is Tionesta, left turn to the End Of The Road and you are at Eagle's Nest RV Park.
Free camping, showers, water, outside storage during the burn.. etc.. stop by for a hug..

I have city water. I let some chicks from Portland fill up here last year.

Question: is the Chevron station still operating in Cedarville?

The cheron is still running, but I think it's only open certain hours since it changed hands earlier this summer. I will look on my lunch break to see what thier hours of operation are. I am pretty cerain that they do not take credit/debit cards anymore though.
