Are “stickyâ€
I know it has to be a lot easier for those interested in Burning Man to get there frequently asked questions answered by the un moving seldom changing stickies , and it’s easier on the old timers on the board to not have to answer the same question for the thousandth time. But does not having to interact with people either asking or answering questions kind of goes counter to the idea of building an on-line community. There is little incentive for lurkers to register, and for old timers after awhile hanging out, without being able to serve some kind of purpose is just hanging out and gets old. Would E-Playa be better off without Sticky threads or are some just to important they should be kept?

I think they're okay. You can avoid Stickies by hitting the "posts since last visit" link whenever you log on, which is what I usually do. If you want to look something up you know where they are and they don't get buried, especially if we get a spambot attack (remember Alfredickhead?).

I don’t see them as clutter or any thing there is a lot of archived valuable information in them.
My concern is it has become to easy to not register on the board, and not post, for a newbie to have to ask a question ,no mater how stupid it seems to someone hearing for the hundredth time it is an intro to the board for them. once they find they survived there first post they soon find they have 6056 posts to there credit or is it shame. I’m talking about new blood here, not that you people aren’t wonderfully entertaining but getting to know new people is so much fun.

I'm still likely to blame board shut downs. They happen too often, too many people post ship and it takes a loooooooooooooooong time to recover.
