Announcing Aura Man 2007, July 28-29, at Sun Aura Resort in northwest Indiana.

This year’s theme is Into the Vortex.

Vortex (n.) 1. swirling, twirling, fluid whirlpool; 2. a form of fluid motion in which particles travel in a circular path around an axis; 3. any activity, situation, or state of affairs that resembles a whirl or eddy in its rushing, absorbing effect, irresistible and catastrophic power.

So get your swirling, twirling minds wrapped around this year’s theme and plan on attending. Get it on your calendars now.

Consider hosting an event or theme camp this year. Just let me know and I’ll get you on the schedule.

Special note: Due to the growing popularity among resort members and burners alike, the attendance increases each year. Consequently, we can no longer reserve RV or motor home space in Central Park. It will be on a first-come basis. But there is lots of overflow parking on the other side of the pool.

We will still have the beach reserved for the event and for tent camping. But the camping will also be on a first-come basis. Overflow tenting is available in Tent City by the Round House.

By the way, if you attended in 2006, kudos to you. Eddie, the person who cleans up the camping area, said he’d never seen campers leave the beach so clean! LNT!!

It's almost the middle of May. Memorial Day Weekend is almost here.
Then it's 4th of July (a whole week – woohoo !!!). And then it's
AuraMan weekend (July 28-29), one of the funnest weekends at Sun
Aura. And it, too, is coming sooner than you think. This is the
latest of your monthly (sort of) AuraMan Updates.

AuraMan, a participatory event, means you !! Bring out your inner
freak. Create that piece of art that's been spinning around in your
head. Clear out those chakras and clean up that aura. Party to the
melodies of the lounge lizards. Hunt for lost treasures. BURN ART
BIG and small. For no apparent reason.

As you know this year's AuraMan theme is "Into the Vortex". Many
people approached me this past weekend at camp, excited about the
event and definitely planning to attend, and best yet, planning some
very cool art projects for the beach. You should, too, be planning,
in the vortex of your mind, to be there, in person, of course. But
bring your mind with you. You can lose it there.

I've been working on the redesign of the AuraMan himself (the biggest
Man yet), And I've got a shitload of ideas spinning in my head for
possible art projects that I can't possibly pull off myself. So if
you're stuck for an idea, let's talk. I've been collecting stuff
that would make for great starter-kits for an art project. It's down
at Sun Aura, so drop by our campsite and see if any of it sparks an
idea in you. It's all burnable.

Remember, if you intend to burn your art at AuraMan, please keep it
as environmentally-friendly as possible (wood, metal, paper,
cardboard, cloth). No plastic, rubber, treated lumber, and
definitely NO glass (ouch!). "Safety Third".

harm the AuraMan organizers and planners, and any and all other
individuals who take part, or may have taken part, in planning and/or
coordination of any of the AuraMan events, the construction of any
structure on the grounds of or related to AuraMan, the construction
and display of any and all art projects at AuraMan, the playing of
music at AuraMan, or the condition of the grounds and/or facilities
where the Event is held.

Although you may think that AuraMan may sound in many ways, in few
ways, or in no way, similar to a larger event known as Burning Man,
AuraMan is in no way sanctioned by Burning Man LLC, and is not
associated with them. All similarities are totally fictitious and
come from the warped imaginations of the AuraMan organizers and
participants.
