It`s all about me.
Finally. An opportunity to talk about myself.
I actually like speaking in front of large crowds. freakish, eh?
I do crossword puzzles in ink.
I would be a really good mom, but i'm cool with being a really good dad.
I am sometimes more perceptive than I would like to be.
I am fiercely loyal. sometimes, stupidly so.
I never play dumb... Well, maybe occasionally.
I am way too hard on myself.
I am a change agent.
I sometimes cross that fine line between assertive and aggressive.
I am not afraid to tell people that I love them or that they are full of crap.
I know a little bit about alot of things.
I am capable of being really mean and nasty, but I fight it. hard.
I am a lifelong Cubs fan. Do not laugh.
I have been known to hold a grudge.
I am lousy at forgiving myself.
I am an outdoor kind of guy.
I am a bargain shopper. to the point of obsession.
I am 32 flavors. and then some.
That`s all for now.
I`m sure I`ll think of more later....

Unjon! Harley! I am a little suprised at you!unjonharley wrote: \/
So in a word "boring"?
I may be bored, but I am NEVER boring.
And what are YOU going to be bringing to my party?
...it`s just a little "un-burner like" for you to come rolling in here
twirling those big ol` floppy man-paisties around like a B-52, smoking god knows what - right on top of that oxygen bottle - right next to the propane tank...And YOU want ME to entertain YOU ??
Actually, if that isn`t entertaining, it`s some odd form of sexual harrassment;... and getting more and more burner-like... as I am transfixed ...by your man boobs.
This isn`t going so well.
Here I build this beautiful little shrine to discuss the more important aspects of my world,
and all you are worried about is being entertained.

I adore the word "Bouillabaisse".
Though I don`t particularly care for the substance.
I say it quite often and I misuse it frequently because I love the way it feels when it pops out of my lips. (the word)
It exudes a certain primal power when masterfully spoken I think.
It`s a beautiful, colorful word that demands immeadiate attention from all who hear it.
I really wish it meant something other than fish soup.

Hey, SED's got nothing on someone who can turn such well crafted prose!EvilDustBooger wrote:

it's the little beast giving cat massage that really makes it!

I have a really good relationship with a middle aged (circa 1992) grey tabby named "Ritty".dana wrote: it's the little beast giving cat massage that really makes it!
We`ve been through a lot together... Helped each other through some tough times.
Sometimes when I go for a walk in the evenings, Ritty will "track" me through the neighborhoods along the edges of the various yards and ditches along the route. I`ve been startled a couple of times by how far he will go to stay with me. On a particularly quiet night, occasionally he will walk along right beside me like a well trained dog would. I love my Ritty. I was totally bowled over one night a while back when I was sitting outside with a friend chatting, and Ritty walked by and crossed over to the corner of the front gate, did a handstand on his 2 front paws and shot a powerful 3-4ft. stream out of his backside, dousing his "territory" quite thoroughly. He then, like a powerful chinese acrobat, slowly, gracefully lowered himself back down, and gave us a look like "Do Sumthin` Aboud it" He is quite the macho little man for a "fixed" kitty...but maybe I`m just projecting.

My friend Jean is the only other person I've heard of that takes cats for "walks".
Maybe not completely projecting. I think animals definitely have personalities - they just can't reflect on themselves. They'll never think to themselves "Damn I cool!!!" They just do it.... and then move on. (which of course makes them decidedly cool.)

I like how cats just roll with reality as it unfolds before them.dana wrote: They just do it.... and then move on. (which of course makes them decidedly cool.)
GODZILLA!.. could appear from behind a tree, breathing fire and roasting houses, and a kitty would still have the same reaction as it would to say...a barking chihuawa. It would recoil for a fraction of a second, and then simply haul ass, take cover somewhere, and have everything forgotten in about 15 minutes.
But no. Not me. Things that happened 30 years ago can still pucker my butt cheeks up like it was happening today.
I`d like to tweek my reality abit.
That`s probably why I get such a kick out of the movie "Mystery Men",
... and the reason I auditioned to become the next "Maytag Repairman".
.... that would be a sweet change.

Good luck, EDB!

They still looking? I hadn't heard anything about this... ('course, they probably aren't looking anywhere I can afford to go to, but I'm still curious.)
Good luck, EDB!

There were cattle call auditions in several major cities, I`m not sure if they are all over with or not.
Mine was on Saturday in Tulsa. We were lucky to have auditions here because of a large Whirlpool plant located here.
I believe there is still a day or 2 left to get a 1 minute audition tape to them via the mail. Details are on Maytag.com under "Help Wanted", but I couldn`t get the site to come up today,...technical difficulties I suppose.
Thanks. I found the site (YAY! My search-engine-fu worked!)
Hmm. I think I will be heading down to Chicago tomorrow. (Talk about finding out about something at the last minute!
) IIRC the Navy Pier isn't too hard to find (even for me).
I haven't been able to get excited about most of the other job leads I've come across, and a washing machine spokesman sounds like it could be fun! At worst, it will get me out of the apartment.
Thanks for the lead!

Hmm. Don't know about youthful (at age 43)..., or reliable, dependable, uh... Oh what the heck! I'll give it a try anyway!EvilDustBooger wrote:Break-A-Leg BAS!
They are looking for funny, reliable, dependable, youthful, outgoing...
...all condensed into 1 minute.
....geez, they want it ALL don`t they!?!
Yeah, they don't want much, do they?!
Thanks!

I`m older than you.BAS wrote: Don't know about youthful (at age 43)

(25 and up)
...with any luck we both will fit nicely into that category.
But I must say...if YOU wind up getting this job now,...
....I am going to be SO pissed!
I reflect upon how cool I am all the time, and I am certainly an animal. If either of us gets it, I will be happy!
I honestly have no idea of what I can do in a minute which would make them pick me. (Darn! Its not long enough for me to come up with a version of "the Aristocrats" to tell them.)

Whoever gets it will have EARNED it - I have no doubt.
It`s a pretty bloodthirsty process ...choosing national icons for huge advertising campaigns.
I know I am up to the challenge,... lord knows I`ve had to jump through some hoops before, but I just don`t know if I attracted attention enough to get a real shot at showing them what I can do. I just gave it my best shot, and if I get another screening , I will be a MANIAC trying to give them what they want...
Best of luck BAS.
I mean that.
Thanks.
What do they have you do in a minute?!? I've never tried one of these things before-- its kind of like Burning Man in that it is something I have thought about trying for a long time, so I figure I should finally get around to acting on it....
(P.S.: My dad thinks it is a bad idea and a waste of my time to try out, since I am too fat for the part. I'll probably still go, I think.)
And, since this is all about you, how about this as a quote for your picture?
"I am a white cat, you are wearing black, what better place for me than your lap?"
(Or something like that.)
