Hi all
I go by Brian most of the time. 2007 will be my first time to BM. My lady, cea, was there in 2000.
We are from Vancouver BC.
She has told me that the first time to just go and enjoy, so we will not be in a theme camp.
However am learning to spin poi and hope to do my first burn spin there.
I bang around on a djemb and will be bringing that with as well.

Yep, you're right. Wood and skins both dry out and can crack on the playa. It's probably not a good idea to bring any instrument that is expensive/ really special. A camp mate brought his cheap "camping" guitar (luckily) last year and it did indeed crack by the end of the week. He had a humidifier for his case, but it didn't do a whole lot...
I guess I can forget about my fiddle then.
I guess that about rules out my fiddle. Even my practice fiddle I wouldn't want to lose.

Items like these. For the Playa environment, pop 2 of those in your case and keep the instrument inside when not in use.
