BAD SINUSES-CHRONIC BLOODY NOSES

Post by DoriumLux » Fri Jun 08, 2007 2:37 am

Hey,

Taking my Boyfriend out to the playa for first time. However, he has terrible sinus problems. He has chronic bloody noses in dry environments as well as other sinus problems. Any advice besides the obvious face mask, and lubing up the nose?

Haha

Please help

Nasal Saline Spray. Works wonders. Keeps the sinuses moist and from sticking to each other, also works for keeping the nose flushed.

I also use a bit of Bag Balm in the inner nose - it helps as well, and is not too annoying a scent. (Plus Bag Balm is good on vinegar-washed feet when dealing with early stage playa foot)...

He should prolly also get the hands-on advice of a healer or doctor for other ideas B4 he goes, as there may be other serious issues involved.

Try to get a four season tent that will keep the dust out.
I use a saline spray with a lubricant in it.
In a dry year I had to use hand lotion around the outside.
I'm allergic to everything, but I have few problems out there other than just dust exposure.
If you can avoid it in your tent, it should be no problem.
Some people recommend a very good mask.
A good hat with a brim can shield you in most conditions.
Last year wasn't dusty.
This year, who knows?

It would be a shame if I had to resort to self-deception to preserve my faith in objective reality.
