A tasting menu for the playa

Post by Major Mallet » Tue Jul 10, 2007 7:05 pm

The PlayaQ camp (home of the perfect playa BBQ) post got me thinking: what other camps specialize in serving food to the denizens of BRC? I have heard of a pancake camp but don't know of any others. Thoughts?

There is porn and eggs
I'm not certain if spanks for bacon will come to life
There was a grilled cheese something or other.
Tiki Fuckos will be giving out frozen margaritas.

The Random Pizza people were there last year.
A nice surprise.

I stumbled upon a "Hot Dogs & Red Wine" give-away last year.

Joey Chestnut had nothing on me that afternoon...

Camp Phillini (sp) does a Hawaiian Luau.

The hot dog and taco lunch at the Genital Portrait Studio was terrific. Don't know if they plan on doing it this year, but the Studio is on the theme camp listings.

Awesome article in relation to this post:

(09-04) 04:00 PDT Black Rock City, Nv. -- Eating at Burning Man is an art.

The annual desert festival may require more than a week of camping in a harsh environment with nearly 40,000 others, but that doesn’t mean subsisting on a Boy Scout diet of beef jerky, Gatorade and canned beans.

Burning Man has some of the most haute cuisine imaginable, making it possible for campers to show up empty-handed and leave 10 pounds heavier. From pulled pork sandwiches to chilled dirty martinis and pizza delivery, Burning Man is like an Iron Chef contest without the equipment – a challenge for any foodie eager to show their skills and share their culinary gifts.
