WiFi Up On The Playa

Post by DeusRegit » Tue Aug 28, 2007 10:53 pm

Glad to report wifi is available at many areas throughout the playa.
Some are secured but most are open... a network camp has got numbered ISP's throughout the city. Don't know yet who they are but at 7:00 axis, i'm working off 13 and 11.
So connect with your burners.. not everyone knows about the wifi and certainly not everone has got their laptop with them.
I'm working "help" services at 7:00 and Kelp forest in RV city if anyone needs a kickstart on the comms.
I'm "the Mallard" with the comms antennas so stop by if you need help.
for the folks in the default world, if you have a message you need to get to your burner friends, i'll see what I can do.
ISP freebie style is spotty at best but not bad, all things considered.
Spirit on the playa is incredible considering the burnt man last night and things only get better as we get closer to Saturday night.
The builders are hard at work rebuilding the Man. It only gets better from here out.
Enjoy, wherever you are!
Chip
I'm not burnt, just lightly toasted.

this is just crazy to be hearing from folks on the playa.... thanks Deus!!

how's the weather??

how's the dust level??

does it look like that predicted thunderstorm for tomorrow is really coming in??

is it really in the 30's at night?? the weather report is coming from Loveloch, NV, so i don't really trust it...

we'll be joining you thursday night. this is the first time in 5 years that i'm not out there early, and the first time in 4 years i'm not on comm late night for cafe volunteers. i'm actually pretty relieved to have not been there in any official capacity at 3am this morning...
