Ice Storage
I have a few bags of ice left over. If I keep dry ice around them in a good cooler, will they still be good next August?

Ice Ice baby
Answer 1
My advice is to release them back to the water cycle. Reclaiming them before next burn will cost less than 10 bucks and they will be happy to be free in liquid form once again. I think it is worth it.
Answer 2
Depends on your definition of good.

May I suggest augmenting the dry ice wrapping with a container full of liquid nitrogen. This will certainly ensure the longevity of your poor perishable ice. While the enormous expense may seem hard to take, just remember the precious lives of those individual cubes you will be saving!
A plan is what you vary from.

By all means save your ICE!!
Then next year you can have floating ice sales at the 4:30 of 7:30 plaza, or even out on the playa.
Ices sales at 3:00 plaza was a crowd mis-management nightmare.
Ice sales must never be in the middle of a block between camps again. The lines killed those camps.

Pretty much all of my ice from last year has melted. But lately, the ambient temperature has dropped below freezing, and it froze again. How many freeze/melt cycles is ice from Camp Arctica good for, on average?
Will it be as cold as the first time it was frozen? Does it develop a "memory", and begin to melt sooner, if I don't cycle it properly?
