MYSDOM needs performers

Post by bryan koester » Sat Nov 01, 2003 10:53 am

Greetings,
We are in serch for performers and stage people to put on a Art Theatre performance called Mysdom. (kind of a Where the Wild Things are Meets Tron). The show involves the use of large marrionette puppets, small hand puppets, costumed dancers, belly dancers , stilt walkers, tons of blacklighting, sound engineering, painted sets, an interactive audience forum and much more.
It is a community theatre and everyone is welcomed to join in. We are located in the SF Bay Area (Berk) But may also be starting a show in LA Area. We hope to keep it very fun and low on the pocket book. Make your own costumes and your in! We are looking for more of the above people and anyone interested. We really need sound and lighting people.
We hope to have a full performance ready for Burningman 2004, with some smaller shows as venue and fundraising allow.
Please visit our concept page at:

If you are in the Sf Bay Area, we hope to start having meetings and rehersals soon so contact us today. Thanks and hope to play together soon.
Burn well!

Your concept of Where the Wild Things are meeting Tron is outrageous. I am a big fan of the "Wild" ever since I was a wee cub. I wish I was in the SF area to be a part of your work but I am not. I look forward to seeing you soon (BM 2004). I looked at your website. You are great. It is almost eerie. You have a quote regarding a spirit having a human experience. It is a quote I once seen years ago and have not seen since this morning on an old pickup truck and then again on YOUR Web. I try not to read into things but I also try to to absorb the possibilty that someone is trying to reach me. At any rate, keep on doing your thing and this world will truly be a more beautiful place.

Peace Always,
Lorgasm

Thanks Lorgasm for that great responce. we are very excited to be putting on this kind of show simply because it comes from our childhood and has now a place to re emerge with full credit to how these kinds of things have changed our lives and made many of the wonderful things in our lives possible. It is our way of giving back to the energy that has given to us.
"what is love if not aprreciation?"
We love life and all of you and now you get to see it.
Thanks again and stay tuned.

:shock::D Greetings!
:roll: Uh, might be able to help you guys out with some "lighting."
:P Can bring a few old PARS and a couple lekos and 3k genny.
:D A professional Stage Hand and life-long participant in Community Theatre, I also make masks on the side to amuse myself.
:) Always bring pleanty of gels, douvatine, wacky glo paint to BMan. I live in a solar collective (in BRC, that is!) and will have NO home for the genny . I planned to bring it to charge an electric Art Bike--somewhere far from our homecamp, so you're welcome to it for the week if needed.
:cry: Can't help out until the Big Burn,(but if you want I'll bring all the above plus all the tools of my trade,) for I wont have any time off until I leave for Black Rock...
:idea: Let me find out exactly what we can take and by all means tell me what you need, and I'll get cracking on it!
I look forward to exploring the world of pupeteering and look forward to seeing you all this year! :oops: -POL :-}

Sadly, I'm not currently in the bay area, and with any luck I'll be spending the summer working for the DPW, BUT...

I'm an actor, a clown, a juggler/stiltwalker/multipurpose geek, and a lighting technician/designer. If you still need someone when the burn rolls around, I'd be happy to don any number of hats. Plus, after the burn I'll likely be returning to northern california where I'd be able to help keep the show going if that's in the plan. So let me know if things get tight around the time of the burn.
