recommend SF burner wedding planner?

Post by magi » Thu Nov 08, 2007 11:52 pm

Hi everyone. My girlfriend (I guess I'd better get used to the word 'fiancee') and I, both of us burners, are getting married next fall, and we've decided that if we're going to the burn next year, and YEAH! we are, we can't also handle planning a wedding at the same time...

Can anyone recommend good wedding/event planners in SF or the bay area, who are alternative/burner-friendly, fun-loving, creative, interesting, amazing types? I'm looking for something more unique and creative than the usual "your dream day" type, plus I'd rather keep the money in the burner community...

I know there are lots of people around here who know how to mix creativity and planning to create magic, so can you please give me your recommendations for who can bridge these worlds?

(And yeah, we've thought about having a playa wedding and may well do it, but it won't be the only one... need to include the non-burner part of the families too!)

Thanks everyone - if you have advice, PM me or email [email protected].

For the cost of church/wedding space rental you could invite all of your closest friends and family to Burning Man and pay their entry fee. Just get them in, get married and they can decide if staying in the desert is right for them. If not, they can go back to Reno.

BTW, my aunt owns a catering business in the south bay but I'm not sure it's what you would be looking for. She is more focused on the foo-foo type weddings and events and not-so-much the artsy burner type of events.
