How to get your tools around on the playa

http://www.mobile-shop.com/transportable.asp
which has videos and animated gifs of the thing in action.

This is reviewed in Kevin Kelly's Kool Tools, where the write up says the empty transporter is a grand, but they'll claim they don't sell it separately and give a pitch on the whole shebang (#! for those as know), tools and all. He says stick to your guns and they'll sell the transporter empty. Or, buy the whole kit. Whatever you need.

I rode my bike across the playa with a bunch of tools to help a camp out. They weren't ready yet, so I headed back. A few hours later I made the trek again, only to have a tire blowout. So I walked back, repaired, tried again and another blowout. All with a heavy armful of tools.
