Last Burn 4 me was last year say the Docs! Help needed

Post by rabbidean » Tue Jul 08, 2008 11:01 am

I am battling terminal illness. It has left me bankrupt and homeless. Sad but that's what happens when you don't have insurance in this country. I want to go one more time but can't do much about cost (battling Socal Security for my benefits) so I'm reaching out to the Burn Community. Is there a camp that can host me? A ticket to donate? Any suggestions? I'd love to die there, but I'm not planning on it. Want to feel free and happy with others like me one more time, before I go to the final frontier. Please help.
Thanks and good burning.

Rab, I took in two terminaly ill "orphan's" last year, it was a very interesting thing for our camp of about 40 people. One of the ill, was planning to die on the playa. Both were virgin Burners. The man that went wishing death on his self decided that he had to live long enough for one more Burn! He is still alive yet will not make this burn. The other guy will make the burn again this year.
I post this to you for what it's worth. Determination & attitude is everything. If you want to make it to Burn 08, you need to work to make it a reality.
Objects behind you may appeare larger than reality!

I too have an illness but its not terminal. The RSD pain sometimes gets me wishing for death and often contemplating how I will choose to go. I would not want to self euthante on the playa for many reasons. My euthanasia plans involve no other folks so law enforcement can't harass or try to incriminate others. Best of luck making it to the burn but try to stay positive while there, theres plenty of time to die elsewhere. BM is a place for living life to the fullest.

If you are really interested in a ticket then you should look into a scholarship or low income ticket. It is usually something that you should do early in the year as they do run out and have a limit. I know the deadline for a scholarship ($90 ticket) and a low income ($145) was May 31st or until they run out.

It's worth a try...

Good luck!

um, i'm an upholsterer, and i also make lampshades and wallets and stuff like that.

i was wondering, um, well, if you're gonna be needing your skin for anything after you pass, and if not, on a range from 1 to 10 with 10 being Idi Amin and 1 being david bowie, what tone are you, i'm trying to match something.

anyway, stop by Camp Gein, next to taxidermist row just outside of gerlach.

Hey, I'm impressed you know who Gein is. Not a lot of people are in touch with the classics these days.

The great serial killers of the past are alive and well for anyone with basic cable. I'm addicted to Most Evil. God that shit is fascinating.

Some of the stories are interesting, but that doctor with his chart of evil is the most full of shit person in the whole world.

A friend of mine was one of the girls that came home late to the sorority house after Bundy went unhinged.
He had been in her room.

A good time to be late.
