Legality of a "Soapy Massage" theme camp with dona
Thanks for responding Zulegoonia.
I don't actually want someone's crappy glowstick or sewing kit. (although some of those playa gifts, esp homemade BM jewelry etc are AMAZING)
Crappy glowstick, can of beans, beer, or China town trinkets would, however, be welcome and greatly help with bringing the full experience to fruition, as I'd definately feel like a whore.
Which is the whole point.

Ahhh... and thus the crux of the problem appears. You can't ask for payment due to the law, but the whole point is to feel like a whore, thus "payment" is required. hmm... Interesting problem.transgirl wrote:Thanks for responding Zulegoonia.

The first thought that comes to mind would be to print up some fake "money" or coins (within the law of course. The bills cannot look the same as a real bill). There would have to be some suspension of disbelief to make this work, but then you can roleplay the whore and get "paid" without any legal issues.

i take that back, I have something else to add - it sounds like you will have a bigger challenge with how to get rid of water than with how much you bring.
If your sign is going to be out quite a bit, I see big problems ahead for you. Nothing will get you ticketed faster nor is harder to hide, than water on the playa.
Below, hopefully, is a picture of one kick ass evaporation unit. We got the plans off eplaya pre-2006, and it works better than anything we've ever tried. Our camp is a bar, and this little unit evaporated enough water for it and a full camp of 18. I imagine you can rig one on a smaller scale. It was easy to make and not that expensive. It also makes a lovely fountain.

TG, sounds like a lovely fantasy camp. My campmates and I ran a hairwash/shaving camp one year and it was insanely successful. The evap pit This Woman speaks of works wonderfully. If your camp is ever realized, you may want to give a heads up to your neighbors to keep an eye out for any shenanigans while you're in session. Tip basket is a good idea. Perhaps setting up a table over an inflatable pool would be helpful.

I couldn't find it, but MissNev originally discovered, so I asked her to reply again if she still has it.
If not, its fairly simple. the wood you see on top is 4' diameter plywood, with the upside painted black. there is a hole in the middle with a hose attachment.
then you have a small length of hose that attaches and leads down to the pump.
You can see how the legs are attached to the bottom of the board, and we stapled the wire around the top of the board.
The key element is the wire. That's not chicken wire in diamond shapes. It's construction wire in square shapes. This holds the water longer.
Firemoose, that water you see around the unit is because we had the pump on when it was windy. You do have to remember to turn it off at windy times. Even so, it was a small amount to deal with that didn't even leave a depression.

As far as massage goes, it's never too late to come a little early.

well thanks to whoever resurrected this thread, evildustbooger's avatar actually got me. I was trying to squish it.
