Well, the word is that Bear Trap Camp has gotten over 1,000 more traps for this year to distribute randomly. Meanwhile, Puddin' Spreaderz Camp claims that the entire 3:00 - 5:00 slice is going to be covered in two feet of chocolate pudding (the bad news -- it's "lite"). There is some speculation that Dig-a-Ginormous-Hole-in-the-Middle-of-Deep-Playa Camp has been in negotiations with the Thatch Appreciation Society; about what is unclear, but it's doubtful that such talks can come to much good. And the Surprise Spring-Loaded Catapult Posse apparently landed a huge grant this year.
All in all, playa conditions are sounding risky at best.

Bear Traps
Like a BEAR doesn't have enough problems on the playa...you guys are setting 1000 bear traps......as long as your don't use wiskey or hot playa vixens as bait, I guess I'll survive.

up to date playa conditions per DPW
as per DPW:
So what''s the playa like, you ask? Well, in Center Camp there's a lot
of deep ruts and whatever the opposite of a rut is. (Rise?) Tall,
loose "snakes" of dirt and dust I reckon . . . . do you have balloon
tires on your mountain bike? Good treds? Good! Get that thing running
well before bringing it out, mmmm okay?
DPW is "dune busting" the larger areas.
o googles? . . . check!
o bandanas/dust masks? . . . check!
o saline nasal spray? . . . check!
