Okay, I know there's no such thing as 'desert-proofing' a truck, but what can I make sure that I have done to my truck before I come? I've done the usual: flushing the coolant, oil change, change filters, check brakes, new tires. Any other recommendations?
It's a 02 Silverado 1500.
Also, if something happens that I can't start the truck on Sunday/Monday, will AAA come out?
Desert-preparing my truck?

There is a similar thread related to RVs on this forum that has a ton of info and check lists for "desert proofing" before, during and after the burn.
While at the city- consider catching any drips with a bok lined in plastic to prevent playa scaring.
Some will tarp the entire cab area to prevent dust from entering the vehicle.
On the way into the city, a/c off windows closed drive slow (5MPH) to prevent dust from getting kicked up and spreading downwind.
After the playa - be prepared to clean and detail the vehicle - my RV - still has dust in it from the last few burns.
Once I hit blacktop - near I-80 I change the air intake filter - but that is just my quirkiness as I drive back to the northern Bay Area.
Best advice - look for the thread about RVs and consider the advice there as it applies in your situation

No clue - Monday after the Temple Burn at about 10AM- I have every kind hearted person I can find all gather round my RV, hold hands, sing "kum biya" for the traditional turning of the ignition ceremoney. Never failed yet. (all our batteries are solar charged anyway) - but it is a nice send off....

I'm pretty sure AAA will come out there ,It may depend on the level of your membership...........But, you could quickly check their web page and see.....
I'm pretty sure they commit to jump starts, etc, anywhere, as long as a truck can get there. Towing might be another thing.........
There are so many helpful people there, I'd imagine you could get a jump or whatever much faster than waiting, anyway..........
"Desert Proofing" has a lot of connotations..........I'd agree to read the RV thread.
Also,
trucks are made for dust and stuff........reasonable maintenance, sane driving technique, common sense stuff should get you through just fine.........
good luck
