Boston / NY Regional or Decompression

Post by ne_genii » Sun Aug 31, 2008 9:29 pm

I am looking for information about upcoming Regional / Decomression gatherings in Boston / NY / ME / VT area. This was my first time at the BM this year and it completely blew my mind, I found myself counting days until the next year's burn.

I understand no event will be the same as BM but hopefully this would be a chance to connect with the same people.

Thanks!

Also a post-virgin coming down from elation. I'm in Boston and I'm hoping the sites I've seen around will see a bit more activity once the old schoolers get back in town and re-energize.

If you're up in these parts, a drink and a chat is always on my agenda!

I heard that every Tuesday night burners get together in Cambridge Brewery, it's a place in Kendall Square. I plan on stopping by next Tuesday. I will send you a message with my email address just in case.

How is acclimatization coming for you? It's kind of tough for me but I knew it wouldn't be easy.

yeah, it's no fun. and life just continues with the twists and turns. i've read a lot from peeps who seem to be shocked by the way the world seems so distant and cold after the shared intimacy at brc - but i think i've always felt that disappointment. it might be highlighted but it's nothing new. just smiling through it.

I saw that too, ne_genii. I'm thinking like BB that once everyone gets back and settled in there'll be some activity.

I was a virgin as well and coming down from the experience is more difficult than I realized it would be. I'm missing the energy tremendously.

From the NYC regionals list:
----------------------
Dear NYC and surrounding area burners,
Please save the date: NYC Decom will be Oct 25th.

Decom will be held at the Aviator Complex in Floyd Bennett Field, which is part of the Gateway National Park. There is a city bus that takes you right there but we are also working on shuttle service from the nearest train, perhaps! We look forward to a fantastic event this year.

More details will be coming soon!
There will be a call for volunteers soon as well, so keep an eye out for it.

We hope to see many of you and your folks there.
Regards,
NYC Regionals!

I'm also coming down from my first Burn. I don't think the Burning has to stop. Conversation and beer is good, but I want comrades for year-long Burning. I don't want to reserve my so-called real life from the giving and intimacy of the Playa. Hear me Burners! Why settle for pieces when you can Burn the Whole Thing? Burn the World! Until then, let's Burn Boston!
