BBCode and Smilies

It seems the most often given instruction to newbies regarding posting on the forum is to "Enable BBCode and Smilies".

Maybe these features could be enabled by default?

You can by going to your profile and choosing "Always allow BBCode:" and "Always enable Smilies:".

Old hats can do this in their sleep. Having it enabled so the new people can use the cool features would be another step towards making this board friendlier to use. And maybe get it back up onto the radar of the MB HQ.

EXACTLY what I was trying to say! Enabled should be the default setting when you sign up.

Never realized it was not the default right out of the box.
