Looking for Experienced Bay Area Burners

Post by Rckdabts » Thu Feb 12, 2009 11:30 pm

Hey everyone, I'm Chris, and I'm looking for someone cool and experienced to adopt me and my small group of friends. We want to join a camp for this year, but we are completely clueless as to where to begin. There's 4-5 of us committed and we are looking for some soul-guidance. I live in San Jose, and we all go to grad school in Santa Clara. Please reach out!!!! We are mostly East-coasters who are dying to burn!!! Hope to hear back from you soon!

Hey there, welcome to eplaya.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Greetings -

read, read and read some more. Youtube videos, and anything you can get yuour hands on. Netflix has some great vids on BM, or better yet buy them online if you can.

Best place to start is to buy a ticket before they get more expensive. Make a list of items to bring and start pulling it together its cheaper to look around than panic buy a day before you leave.

and unless your smoking hot group of 20 year old chicks dont expect a ton adoption offers.

So - take the bull by the horns and solicit. Youll need more detailed description of what niche you think you belong too. All genres are represented.

later

I'd say we're the pseudo-brainiac crew with ridiculous flavor. Anyone looking to adopt a group of smokin hot 20 year old chicks sounds kinda creeper to me, but I appreciate the response...And I love 20 year chicks! I was big into the NY underground party scene in the late 90's and the associated hard house movement, My co-horts vary from a PhD in geology, (the rock-doc) to a karaoke-star, continent skipping, magician's assistant looking diva, to a moon-worshiping Italian goddess. We are like chicken, we go well with just about anything. Personally, I'm looking for a group who's starting to think about a project now, because I'm really exited to take part in a project. I'm gonna netflix some movies!!! Thanks!!

first of all, you obviously have been west coast for some time now, there is no Bitter in your Butter.

California has made you soft, like french cheese.

Start your own camp, join a village, dont be parasitic pond scum, like most of the transplants.

i'm being nice, in an east coast kinda way, so do not be offended.

I don't think there are many burners in the bay area, but you could look into joining the east bay burners yahoo group, which has a few south bay folks:
https://lists.burningman.com/mailman/li ... y-announce
there is also a pub crawl tonight, in Alameda, and of course the Burnal Equinox - Flambe Lounge thingy on Feb. 28th, which would be a place to meet a few CA "softies".

yeah, evolve already you fucking hippy.

why cant you transform into something new, and fresh, like the current version of the Dead...oh wait, scratch that...they're still tired and in the way.

You could become a Business Hippy, and sell hemp futures and life coaching hair care products from your New VW Camper.

like tony robbins in a helluva K-Hole...

i like it! Peace! Groovy! Visa or Mastercard!

Wow, I had no idea tickets are so expensive. Perhaps we are both in the wrong business and instead should promote concerts. (seats for $1,300.00)

Hey, and you're gonna have to speak up.. a little hard of hearing, you see.

Also, whats with the fucking small print. now I gotta go find my readin' glasses.

Saw the dead, stinson beach 'bout 67, ate an apple, Saw god stinson beach bout 67

wow (does anyone really have any idea what the word "WOW" means, can it mean.. "Oh My God that's fucking incredible and I have never in my life seen something like this before"

toured in 82-84, redrocks, east coast, blew off one entire semester, disneyworld/orlando bad craziness parking lot scene/japanese tourists taking pictures, Carrier Dome, and many many more...

saw JGB and Jorma K. and all of the other variations of further, but as you well know, nothing ever stays the same...the scene really changed after touch of grey, and all the deady come latelys and phish phucks kinda bother me.

Sounds like you use to have a lot going on. Are you still active like you use to be? And that "parking lot" mention below got me wondering???

It does help if you like grilled cheese, I do. It's so fucking easy, like Zappa would say.

Are you a writer? And if not, submit something to your local paper, cause you got the talent.

no, i wish i could get paid to "hunt and peck".

i am an upholsterer / furniture maker, but someday, when my hands rebel against me, and refuse to work, maybe i'll take up writing.

thanks for the compliment though.
