LOL--well you'll be happy to know that you can link your twitter account to facebook so if you update one, the other is automatically updated as well.

Twitter and Facebook are pretty much the only social network sites I use anymore.

I also heard that today's kids use these social networking tools/sites as their main method of communication between their friends and consider email an outdated technology that they use for sending a thank you note to adults or to their grandparents. Now don't that make you feel old.

Oh, dear forum-posting Twitter haters:

Twitter is not for everyone. Neither is Burning Man. Even if you walk through the gate, you might not "get it" until you have your own personal epiphany about what "it" is. There's no way to adequately explain it until you submit to the urge to converge, and see how well it fits. So feel free to share your insights in a forum, join the Twitterverse, and simply keep your mouth shut (that's not an invitation, only a option.)

However, should you change your mind, feel free to add yourself to the list:

I can appreciate your love for Twitter, I can. I know several people who have it and they are constantly twittering this person and that, every other minute of their day. You're comparing Burning Man to Twitter? Okay. That's cool. I can appreciate that, but, PlayaPower, I seriously doubt I personally would get any kind of "epiphany" from Twitter. Burning Man, yes. Oh hell yes. Twitter, no. But who knows? I could be wrong. I mean, maybe the Dalai Lama might twitter me. giving me all the answers to my biggest questions in life. Maybe Ed McMahon would twitter me finally, telling me I finally won that goshdarn Publisher Clearing House's million dollar prize. Or maybe my lover would twitter me every other minute of his day to tell me every naughty thought he's having about me.

And now I am off to eat cod with papaya mango salsa, a salad, and a sweet iced tea while I watch Cash Cab.

Thanks. Glad you enjoy 'em. I am practically addicted to fortune cookies lately. The cookies are yummy and each fortune is like getting a little prize - like in Cracker Jacks, but without the popcorn, caramel and peanuts. : - P Somebody told me you're supposed to add "in bed" after the fortune. The funniest fortune I ever got was: "The fortune you seek is in another cookie."

I followed @bman_countdown for the 2010 event and received a daily tweet (and SMS) telling me how many days until the burn. It became a welcome buzz in my pocket every day, and since that account hasn't resumed updates for the 2011 event, I flipped on my self-reliant do-ocracy skills and made an account that would auto-tweet the updates for me and anyone else who might be interested.
