Did your Theme Camp go Nonprofit? How's that going?

Post by kitten_sf » Thu Jun 04, 2009 9:41 pm

Did your theme camp start informally & then go official... aka incorporate as a nonprofit, LLC or other type of organization?

How'd that go for you? From your experience, what do you recommend?

My theme camp has developed into a growing community with various assets to manage as a group, yet we are not incorporated into any type of legal entity, yet.

We're looking for a few good examples to follow... and experienced voices to consider. What are some worthy strategies to consider, when a theme camp is considering going 'official' and becoming a legal entity?

So many choices... LLC vs Nonprofit vs Religious Group... what's worked for other theme camps out there?

Very interested in meeting other theme camp organizers who've tackled these issues. What are your stories? What have you learned?

If you have insight, please feel free to contact me, or post anything you find helpful on this board.
