Hello everyone,
I'm lith, a 28 year old guy from Denmark. For the past ten years I have been going to a Danish music festival called Roskilde Festival. I went again this year and though it was as amazing as ever I did feel an urge to try something new, something different.
Browsing the internet for new ideas I happened across Burning Man. It looks like a fantastic event, just the right sort of different. Everything from the gift economy to the leave no trace behind idea, it is all very appealing.
It's going to be a fairly expensive trip though so I'm still deliberating whether or not to go. I have put in a request for time off from the 29th of August until the 9th of September, if it comes through it will most likely tip the scales in favour of green light for a trip to Nevada.
So I hope things work out and that I can participate in your wonderful event.
/Lith

Yo! My ancestors, Hans, Lars, Ole, Gilman and Helga all made it out to the states (in the 1860's) for their epic journey from Denmark and so should you!
Take the journey and celebrate the passion and zest for life and humanity you'll experience at BRC, then return home and share it with all you know...

My ancestors, the Jorgensens, walked from Illinois to Utah, pulling handcarts, after immigrating from Copenhagen. Surely a trip to the Black Rock Desert in modern times is less daunting than that?TumbleWeed99 wrote:Yo! Dane to desert
Lith,
It's turtles all the way down.?
did you get that from hawking's book?
Maybe you can show us how to be an art viking in the desert? ---
I was just talking to a german about beer, and whether or not the danes out drink the germans in beer... using Guiness book of world records...
well anyway, don't demonstrate this in the desert - booze and caffeine will help dehydrate you, so watch out!
sunburn and dehydration are the two main health problems, number one injury is reebar (tent stakes with nasty exposure... so ankles get it...
hope you make it and confuse people with plenty of danish, cheers
