Good currency for slave auction?
Not sure if this should go under Theme Camps instead, but anyways...
Last year, some folks from my camp and I went to Temple of Atonement's slave auction. It was interesting, but we didn't get the experience that we wanted, because our barter items were not acceptable by the auctioneer.
Like a total n00b, I forgot to write down what people bartered with that was successful at getting them the, ah, property of their choice.
Do any of you have any suggestions as to what TOA values most highly at said auction? I don't even know if they're out on the playa this year, didn't see them on the camp placement list, but hope springs eternal...

As far as I know, TOA will not be there this year. They have institued
a every-other-year plan.

The TOA slave auction seems to have run out of steam the last couple of times, don't know why. In the past good scotch or good chocolate seemed to work well for goods. Fresh cooked gourmet meals seem to have worked too. But people aren't showing up either to be on the block or to bid like they used to.
But as another poster said, they're on an every other year schedule anyways, so it's not even happening this year.

V. That's the sort of information you are very unlikely to find on the internet. Those camps keep a low profile so that they are not inundated with eager bodies. If you know someone who might be in the know, your chances are better if you ask there. Even if I knew of one, it would remain priveledged information.
