Perceived Theft Was Not...

Wanted to chime in on the theft topic:

The first or second night we were there last year (which was either Sat or Sunday before the event started) someone grabbed a hand-made EL-wire globe we had hung on our street sign at the corner of our camp. We were bummed and sorta confused why someone had taken it, but took it in stride...

We mentioned to various rangers that our globe had been purloined (we had a ranger in our camp) but didn't really worry too much... Anyway, last day of the event, someone comes by after hearing from someone else about our stolen globe -- turns out this Burner had thought our globe was unattended and took it for safe keeping!

Our only other theft last year was a jacket -- but again we got it back and it seemed like it was borrowed just for warmth.

Now, we did have some suspicious people roam through our camp at various times and we also kept all valuables locked in the trunk, and our generator and our bikes locked up, but still -- we got our globe back!
