Dying to Attend 2010
I've been trying to go to BM for YEARS and each year, financial shit holds me back. With you people as my witnesses, I WILL make it for 2010! haha.
I plan to soak up everything I can around here to make it the best experience possible. Thanks in advance for your wisdom! -Tara

Good luck during this next year. I hope that your wishes come true and you make it to BRC. After missing this year (partly because of the US Military, partly due to my wedding), I vow to return to BRC in force next year.
Keep in touch, I always enjoy meeting virgins on the playa, with their wide-eyed expressions and enjoyment.

You all have great advice! Thanks!

start now with tucking $20 a week in some 'can't touch during xmas' manner and you can buy tickets in january... tell others you are going so the reverse peer-pressure helps stop you from backing out later...

I'm going to try something different this year. I'm going to try and buy stuff as the year progresses and store it in a 'Burning Man Only' section of my house.
Example: One month I'll focus on the ticket, next month I'll focus on the down payment for the RV, next month I'll snag a case of MREs, etc etc etc.
BTW, before you knock MREs, some are really good (chili mac and beef stew come to mind) and are a blessing when you've been working all day setting stuff up and you're too tired to cook. I gifted my campmates one evening with MREs when this situation popped up, they loved every bite.
Oh, and don't forget about the Tactical Bacon...

Might I suggest 'Camp Makin' Bacon' on your itinerary for the Burn next year?
It's a San Diego theme camp based around the wonderful world of bacon. Last year, I enjoyed freshly cooked bacon, a bacon apple-tini, and countless other enjoyments.
This year, they had a study on how bacon affects individuals.
If you like bacon, they are a 'must see' camp for you...

The authentic ones are hard to grab in good condition and sometimes really expensive on eBay.
The civilian MREs are actually getting a lot better, plus their cheaper. If you know what to get, you can't tell the difference.
