abalone shell jewelry
Any of you that were gifted an abalone shell necklace, please let me know what you think of next year's idea: abalone shell ear rings, hoops, plugs. Any other ideas for use of my stock of shells?

I love abalone. Personally, I've done all the modifications to my body that I see necessary (well, except the weight loss and the revision I'm hoping to get this year) and I won't need plugs. I don't wear jewelry anyway, and I used to string beads! I love abalone and seeing it worked in multiple ways would be lovely. I don't know about plugs. Abalone is a sort of soft substance and it's gritty. Would that be a problem? Would someone who knows about plugs chime in, please.
I did get one piece of abalone, but it was that New Zealand stuff--puka puka or something. I chose it because it had abalone.
So, follow your fucking heart. Abalone is special.
