Hello there!

Post by gruebot » Thu Jan 21, 2010 10:13 pm

Hi, my name is Hank and this will be my first time going to Burning Man. My fiance and I have been to the regional burn in Colorado (Apogeaea) the last two years and are very excited about BM. We will be attending with our very close friends who are also attending for the first time. We are Djs and producers under the name Dub Committee and would very much like to meet anyone whos interested in getting down to some good music with us. Peace.

Hi Hank and Girlfriend...as assuming you call her that name....

WARNING...SNARK ahead! I will apologize in advance for our desert family and "DJ's" . But this is the only one your getting...and it was free BTW.

See we come here to discuss art projects costuming basic social fun fun.

The Reason Dj's get such a hard time here is that 8 in 10 new peeps signing in think they are the gift to scratching records! aka...a dj' named Jesus!

So, I would put your name in the dj hat, hook up via PM with the larger sound camps or go over to Stage seeking performers.

All the rest is gravy and great people...who mind you, are on here enough to let you see a good morning...and A BAD MORNING.....

So WELCOME aboard, most of us dont wanna hear your rip, but we'll dance the shit out of it out THERE!!!!!
So dont fret, but dont be DJ JESUS either!

Welcome to the EPLaYa...tis nothing like the real Playa!
Names pinemom, but my friends call me "Piney".

Hi Hank,

Welcome to eplaya. Burning Man is very different from the regionals that I’ve been to. It’s always a blast, but there’s nothing like your first time to the desert. But there are some pretty specific demands placed on the body by a high, dry, alkaline hardpan. Read up on the survival guide, then read it again.

There’s lots of places that pop up later in the year looking for people to spin. Some bring gear but most offer stages for you to set up on. Keep an eye on the Stages Seeking Artists thread. And keep your gear covered unless in use. Maybe even if in use. The dust will get everywhere.

Oh, yea…

And the DJ thing can get you some snark on eplaya, so be prepared. It‘s heard a lot around here. And find the episode of Lucy, Daughter of The Devil called “Temptasiaâ€
