Hi, my name is Hank and this will be my first time going to Burning Man. My fiance and I have been to the regional burn in Colorado (Apogeaea) the last two years and are very excited about BM. We will be attending with our very close friends who are also attending for the first time. Welcome to eplaya. Burning Man is very different from the regionals that I’ve been to. It’s always a blast, but there’s nothing like your first time to the desert. But there are some pretty specific demands placed on the body by a high, dry, alkaline hardpan. Read up on the survival guide, then read it again.
There’s lots of places that pop up later in the year looking for people to spin. Some bring gear but most offer stages for you to set up on. Keep an eye on the Stages Seeking Artists thread. And keep your gear covered unless in use. Maybe even if in use. The dust will get everywhere.
