Anonymous Camp

Post by rhcp_chick88 » Wed Mar 17, 2010 5:28 pm

Just looking to see if there is going to be an Anonymous Camp or Camp Stella for this year - me and a couple friends are interested in driving down for it, but would be more comfortable within a sober community ;)

Always there is Anonymous Camp. Plenty of support out there. :)

Since it's my first year, and I'm going alone, it's probably where I'll be staying.

Hey Bob, it's also my first year. I am also going alone. I am not sure yet if I want to join a theme camp or if I want to camp solo. I do like the idea of staying with (or near) a group of sober burners - if I joined a theme camp, it would be this one.

I am also from Orange County - Los Alamitos. Nice to meet a fellow newbie from OC. 8)

Hey Terry...very cool!

Besides the sober environment...I like the fact that Anonymous Village always seems to be placed in the center of things. If you can find a map it's always just a stones throw from center camp.

I did not know that, that is cool. I saw the map from last year - it does look like it was well-situated. I've looked through the ePlaya posts and only found this topic and one other that had much discussion on sober camps. I'm guessing that sometime between now and August, information on the 2010 camp will show up here somewhere. In other words, "More will be revealed"... :)

The camp has a link, but it isn't running right now. I'm sure it will be soon.

Only two threads on sober camps? Haha...doesn't surprise me.

We'll have to exchange info before BM and find out what day we're leaving, routes, anything else we need to know. Then we can follow each other up or something. I know a Ranger there, but we've never met face to face. And I know a fellow student at CSUF that's going. Other than that I'll know no one.

I'll be heading up on Tuesday, probably won't arrive until after dark Tuesday night, and I think I read somewhere that I'll have to wait until morning to enter the camp, so I guess that means I'll be sleeping in my car til daylight.

Feel free to e-mail me directly - tparker92676_at_yahoo_dot_com.

Hey Terry,

I'm heading up a few days before Monday. Going to take a nice leisurely drive up and see the sights along the way. Going to stop in Reno and see an old friend. I hope to be in line to get in prior to midnight on Sunday. So I'll probably meet up with you at Anonymous.

I'll email you.

Hey Terry,

I just found out tonight that we have a common friend...Tom T.

It surprised me...and then again it didn't.

If I don't see you before BM I'll see you then!

Well, small world indeed! Yes, Tom T. just left me a voicemail earlier this evening, I suspect he was calling to tell me the same thing. That's awesome!

I look forward to meeting you, wherever that may be!

The email address given for Anonymous Village in the theme camp listing doesn't work.

BUMP

There are several of us from Southern California who would like to camp at Anon. Village. However, your email does not work. If the camp "hosts" or anyone else from AV comes on eplaya, could you send me a message?

Thanks!

If I hadn't sold my tickets, we'd be camping nearby. :)

The best way to reach the Camp Anonymous folks is to join the mailing list here: http://lists.p90.net/listinfo.cgi/burni ... es-p90.net

The regular website seems to be down... I'm sure it will get fixed at some point.

Camp Anonymous will be at 6:00 & Detroit this year.

I promise not to camp equidistant between Boobie Bar and Camp Anon. At least that's my plan. Just don't look for me there, Fishy.

I noticed that few of the posters here have expressed an interest in joining a sober camp. We're still have room at Camp Stella.

Check out of website at http://campstella.wordpress.com/
or send an email to Sprout (jamie_gallagher (at) att.net) if you're interested.

Camp Stella is quite a stellar bunch! They put on a "prepare for the playa" event here in SF that people love. Oh and a bunch of hotties too. So yeah, they would be a great bunch to camp with!

Mr. Mister @ Vamp Camp is a sober, anyone who wants to come hang out or just chill is more than welcome, we've had an occasional spontaneous meeting if we get a few clean/sober minds together, stop by & say hi!

at the end of a meeting sometime the chair woud say, "o.k. we are done unless somebody has a burning issue they must discuss" I'll have to attend a meeting on playa and see if they say this.
