The 21 year old virgin
That's not bad right? Just moved to Carson City a couple months ago- and because of the proximity Burning Man became a real consideration this year.
The name's Ron- used to live in Ventura, California if anyone knows where that's at. I'm 98.6% sure I'm going- saving money already, working up the courage to ask for a week and a half off of work, making mental preparation lists and convincing my friends back in Ventura that they should skip Electric Daisy Carnival this year to do something way better.
Still trying to figure out whether I'm looking for a camp or flyin' solo. I have this fear that if I camp solo my tent will fly away or collapse. Anyways, just saying hello and I hope to meet a lot of you out on the playa this year.

It's a money thing. Plus I'm kinda of pissed about the way they've been playing keep-away with any details. Yeah, you're right, less than four hours of night doesn't give much to seeing an entire football stadium full of people covered in glow-sticks all jumping simultaneously when a fat beat drops. Did you go last year?

Ya last year blew me away. Just the shear amount of spectacle going on in the coliseum was a site to see, although I did enjoy Friday more (better vibes and less hassle going anywhere).
What makes me sad is thinking about how I'm going to have to carry all my glow gear all day without a backpack (but fanny paks are allowed). I'll be in el wire, but I'll still have to carry the glow bracelets and sticks for everyone else in my group for 7 hrs before night hits =/
Anyway, I'm sure Bman will make me forget all about it...and your friends should realize that too!

Friday was awesome. Definitely the highlight of those two days. No swimming through crowds and the vibes were on. Did you see the big metal moving spider? Borrowed straight from the playa. Also the huge metal woman that was on fire later in the night.
Did you check out Major Lazer or Le Castlevania? I had my girlfriend sneak in a water bottle full of vodka in her panties cause she was wearing a flowy kinda dress and both their sets were just going off. I got kinda drunk but I offered a guy a sip and he downed the rest of it, I was pretty pissed.

Umm go to electric daisy carnival. burning man doesn't have any cool spider thingies. and just so that you are aware glo stuff is not allowed on the playa due to the giant ammounts of moop last year. Also there will be no bangin beats this year as all giant sound camps have been banished. All there will be this year is orchestral music and ambient dub. Oh and also no one will be admitted after tuesday night. unless they pay the 900$ ticket price. just sayin!

Yeah its really too bad that the BLM made them changed all the rules. I'm sure its still gonna be an amazing event though. Plus who really needs super loud music when there is the wind of the desert to listen to.curiousgnate wrote:Umm go to electric daisy carnival. burning man doesn't have any cool spider thingies. and just so that you are aware glo stuff is not allowed on the playa due to the giant ammounts of moop last year. I'm assuming that's a bit exagerrated...right? :(

No no, you haven't heard the word, burningman is going back to its roots this year. absolutely no "dance" music, glowies are out personal fire guns are in, the shooting range is back, no rv's are allowed. center camp will still sell coffee, and in addition ammo. There are a lot of other changes I just can't think of them all at the moment maybe I can get some help here...

I'm just glad we don't have to stash our guns at the gate any more. I always hated having to worry that they would check the glove box, under the seats, or gun rack in the back. They say No Guns, but who is gonna drive halfway across the country on deserted highways with out self protection?

Just in case you haven't figured it out, Burning Man is not a music or dance or festival. None of those words apply. There is music and man, do we dance (sometimes to no music), and festival? you've been mislead. Please read, and reread the Survival Guide and Preparation. You are really gonna' need it. This ain't no electric daisy chain.

I think you've been mislead. If you read the first post it consisted of me just saying that I've been trying to convince my friends to save their money for burning man, instead of going to some rave.
Thanks for the tips anyway.
By the way, illy dilly, do you know if they'll let in my grenade launcher? I've been dying to use it, just haven't found a good place. I figure target practice on art cars is a great place to start. =D
