newbie looking to find friends or a camp to set a base at

Post by jacqbird » Mon Jun 21, 2010 9:07 pm

Hi everyone. Yes, it is true, I am a first timer. So go gentle on me. This year, I will likely be heading down alone and am wondering if there is a camp i could meet up with either before or once i get there to set a home base at. I am interested in a camp on the slightly more quiet side, but only slightly. If you have any suggestions, please throw them at me!
Thanks and look forward to seeing you on the playa.

I am interested in a camp, with a more spiritually-focused take on burning man. Something like an oasis in the desert (which I realize, is kinda the whole point anyway)...just people looking to connect with, and feel comfortable with.

Two places to look. There's a sub-forum here called something like 2010 Camps, read through the threads and if you find something that you, like post or contact the camp member who's asking. There is a list of 2010 camps on the main site (burningman.com), with brief descriptions and contacts. Again, go through the list and see what appeals. At this point, plans are getting pretty firm and not every place is going to have room. And not all camps were looking to begin with. So, with either list, make a list of possibles, rather than pinning your hopes on one.

An oasis in the desert? That's a new one...
Don't bore your friends with all your troubles. Tell your enemies instead, for they will delight in hearing about them.

I still have room in my Lazy Lizard camp. We are a group of strangers who will come together and become a quiet force for good.

If you read my other posts you will get an idea of what we are about.

Let me know if you are interested.

Maybe it's best to work on the lungs before the legs...
