ISO 1 inch foil covered insulation board for my hexayurt
I would like to think that after I get off the plane in Reno, I'll be able to walk into Home Depot and pick up 12 sheets of insulation board to make my hexayurt. My friends in Vegas tell me that I will be shit out of luck.
Any suggestions? I'll be driving to BRC from Reno, thought there may some place off the beaten path. Cheers.

Home Depot should have it in stock. They do here in LA. I think what they sell is called R-Max. Why don't you call over there and check?
I doubt you will be able to find the 6" bi-directional filament tape anywhere locally.
We had to order it on-line from http://findtape.com

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Use the commercial sales desk
Call the store you want to buy from and ask for "commercial sales" or "the contractors desk."
Talk to the human, and specify exactly what you want. This dude will be busy, so already have part numbers from the web site. The store will have gather your order for your and have it waiting at the contractors desk. Walk in, make one payment, walk out.
I do this at the Fernley Lowes, but should work at any Home Depot or Lowes.

Here's the link on HD http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/sto ... ogId=10053
The one that is available at our stores is the one that costs $18.30. That's what we used for our Yurt. http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1 ... ogId=10053

Yea, I never could find the stuff on the Hexayurt site either--including the tape. I never knew the correct generic name, but it was sort of obvious when you saw a facsimile at the building supply store.

someone who has thermax HD
Good source for Thermax HD. Still not too late to order and have it ready to pick up 30 minutes outside of San Fran (or other areas that you are in).

RMax source in Reno
Capital Plywood in Reno is the distributor for RMAX which makes a product called TSX-8500. I called the RMAX people and they said this is the product that is intended to be used with the shiny exterior exposed.
Capital Plywood's number is 775-629-4494
They hooked me up with a local lumberyard that can order it.

One more thing...
RMax in Fernley (outside of Reno) sells seconds. 1" sheet goes for $5.12 and 3" goes for $14.40. That's all they have right now and they have a waiting list for 1.5"
They don't designate the product, just shiny aluminum exterior or not.
